Titel:
Cryptography in a healthcare
Omschrijving:
Rapid digitalization and increased integration of health information systems have escalated the risks of cyber-attacks, rendering traditional encryption methods insufficient. This project addresses these challenges by researching and evaluating encryption methods that can provide robust protection against sophisticated cyber threats.
To address these challenges, the project explores innovative encryption techniques designed to secure healthcare data against advanced threats. Specifically, it investigates advanced encryption techniques, with a particular focus on Information-Theoretic Security (ITS), which relies on mathematical guarantees for data protection. Among the techniques explored is the one-time pad, a method theoretically unbreakable when applied correctly. To bridge theory and practice, prototypes and Proofs of Concept (POCs) were developed to implement these techniques in realistic scenarios. Through testing and simulations, their effectiveness in safeguarding sensitive healthcare data against modern cyber threats is evaluated. The insights gained from these experiments inform practical strategies that healthcare providers can adopt to enhance the security of their systems. By investigating and testing advanced methods, the project aims to identify solutions that are not only effective but also practical for real-world use.
Ultimately, the project seeks to make healthcare systems safer by providing stronger safeguards for sensitive data ensuring it remains protected from potential cyber threats.
