User Interaction iOrbit: Smart Test Device Management System

Iedereen kent het wel: de frustratie van iets niet gevonden krijgen, en als je het dan eindelijk hebt gevonden, dat het toch niet was wat je zocht.

Het Mobile Chapter van iO weet hier alles van. Hun huidige Confluence-gebaseerde systeem kampte met verouderde informatie, inefficiënte processen en gebrek aan automatisering, wat leidde tot tijdverlies en frustraties.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij iO heb ik een systeem ontwikkeld voor het beheren van testapparaten om deze pijnpunten te laten verdwijnen. Mijn oplossing bestaat dan ook uit twee applicaties: iOrbit, een React Web App die een uitgebreid overzicht biedt van alle testapparaten en gebruikers de mogelijkheid geeft apparaten te lenen. En iOrbiter, een React Native app die op testapparaten wordt geïnstalleerd om dagelijks de apparaat informatie bij te werken.

Gecombineerd vormen iOrbit en iOrbiter de perfecte oplossing voor iO. Volledig afgesteld op de wensen van de gebruikers aan de hand van gebruikerstesten en makkelijk te installeren op alle testapparaten via Firebase App Distribution. Daarnaast is iOrbit intern beschikbaar binnen alle campussen van iO.

Deze twee apps zijn niet zomaar een toevoeging aan iO. Het lost een cruciaal probleem op en geeft de developers van iO weer een gerust hart om hun werk te doen zonder eindeloos naar een testapparaat te zoeken of erachter te komen dat het toch niet geschikt was voor hun test.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij het Koning Willem 1 College heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar hoe HR-data beheerd kan worden.
De aanleiding voor het project was de constatering dat autorisaties niet optimaal beheerd worden in combinatie met geen systematische verwijdering van persoonsgegevens. Dit leidt tot risico's in overtredingen van de AVG en bewaartermijnen.

Om de risico's te mitigeren is een datamanagement beleid opgezet wat vervolgens als leidraad diende om een oplossing voor de genoemde problemen te vinden. Naast dit beleid zijn requirements van verschillende stakeholders meegenomen zodat inzichtelijk werd gemaakt waaraan de oplossing dient te voldoen.
Op basis hiervan zijn verschillende mogelijke oplossingen onderzocht.

Het resultaat is een advies over een datamanagement beleid in combinatie met de meest geschikte oplossing voor het beheer van HR-data.

During my graduation internship, I worked on the Met Mij project, an initiative aimed at improving access to social services for Dutch adults with low basic skills (NT1 group). Around 3.3 million citizens in the Netherlands experience difficulties with reading, writing, or digital communication, which often leads to social exclusion and difficulty accessing essential services such as healthcare, employment support, or financial aid.

To address this issue, we developed Mijke, a WhatsApp-based chatbot that uses generative AI to identify user needs and connect them to relevant local support services. The project builds on an existing proof-of-concept and focuses on refining and scaling the solution to serve real-world users more effectively. Many individuals in the NT1 group are hesitant to seek help due to shame or previous negative experiences. Mijke lowers this barrier by offering anonymous, accessible, and conversational support in plain language.

My role in this project included implementing a scalable cloud-based backend architecture and expanding the chatbot's capabilities, including voice interaction to support users with reading difficulties. I also designed methods for evaluating the chatbot's performance based on metrics like match accuracy, relevance, and tonality. These evaluations help ensure that the bot not only provides technically correct answers, but does so with the right level of empathy and clarity.

User Interaction Project HoneyBee: Military Drone-Simulator

Project HoneyBee, initiated in Fall 2024 in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Defense, aims to provide a virtual drone-flying simulator for military training when physical airspace is unavailable. Built in Unity 3D for Windows, the current prototype focuses primarily on maneuverability through three flight modes and tactical scenarios.
However, military Quadrotor drones are largely used for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). This includes collecting, processing, analyzing, and disseminating battlefield intelligence, which the current simulator lacks. Given the rising importance of ISR in modern warfare, as highlighted by the Dutch Ministry of Defense and Elistair (2024), the simulator presents a major opportunity to evolve beyond motor skills and into training for situational awareness, analysis, and tactical communication.
The next development phase should integrate ISR operations into the simulator, enabling pilots to practice not only drone control but also battlefield observation, enemy movement analysis, and information sharing with ground forces. This dual focus on motoric and analytical skills would enhance the realism and utility of the training experience.
The key research question guiding this evolution is: How can an in-game operation be realized to allow military drone pilots to train analytical and tactical skills in combination with drone-maneuvering skills? This will involve designing and validating new ISR mission scenarios to simulate real-world surveillance and decision-making tasks, taking the simulator’s training capability to the next level.

Their recruitment department wants more VR games to use at conventions, so I am making a hamster ball inspired racing game which is set at the office. This assignment will go into the entire process of developing and rolling out a game (pun intended). From concepting and designing, to realisation and testing.

By ensuring that the data is processed and uploaded to either an on-premise or cloud-based database, the system improves accuracy, reduces workload, and minimizes the risk of human error.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the agent can be deployed as a local installation within a client’s network or as a hosted service. Emphasis was placed on creating a secure, lightweight, and extensible architecture that includes detailed documentation, health-check monitoring.

My project focuses on making Monflo (a blockchain-based finance app) more engaging and enjoyable to use, especially for traders and investors. The main idea is to add game-like features to the platform to keep users interested and motivated over time.

To start, I studied how people interact with finance apps and what keeps them coming back. I analyzed Monflo’s existing features to understand how the platform currently encourages user interactions . I used a framework called Octalysis, which helps break down what motivates users, and cross-referenced my findings to identify areas for improvement.

I also made sure to research financial laws and rules, since Monflo deals with cryptocurrency and must follow strict regulations.

Using these insights, I concepted a set of gamified features created a (Figma) prototype for key features and presented them to Monflo’s stakeholders for feedback and prioritization. Their input helped shape the final gamification strategy, which outlines the selected features, their intended impact on user experience, and suggested checkpoints for reviewing progress.

From there, I translated the strategy into detailed technical requirements, including both functional and non-functional aspects. I created a system architecture using the C4 model, showing how the new features will fit into Monflo’s existing infrastructure, including a microservices design and database structure.

I am currently working on implementing the first feature from the strategy, while establishing a foundation for future gamification features.

Imagine a world where investment orders can be tracked seamlessly throughout their entire lifecycle. The real-time monitoring dashboard I developed allows the Effecten Support team to observe all investment orders within Van Lanschot Kempen's portfolio management environment. The system supports comprehensive status tracking within Eximius (third party software) as well as visibility into critical thresholds that indicate potential issues before they impact clients directly.

Support team can see all stages their orders pass through and receive automated alerts when orders remain in a particular status. This ensures complete transparency of the order flow within the company as well as a simple yet efficient way for all team members to understand where delays or bottlenecks might occur in the investment process.

The shift from manual monitoring to an automated, proactive system changes how the Effecten Support team handles investment orders, improving service quality while minimizing operational risks throughout the process.

Onderwijsinstellingen worden jaarlijks getoetst op hun informatiebeveiligingsniveau op basis van het SURFaudit-kader, dat is gebaseerd op de ISO 27000-serie en het volwassenheidsmodel voor informatiebeveiliging van de NBA (Nederlandse Beroepsorganisatie van Accountants). Het IT Security Office van Tilburg University wil huidige cybertools beter benutten of nieuwe tools inzetten om ontbrekende beveiligingsinzichten te verkrijgen om een hoger informatiebeveiligingsniveau te bereiken.

In mijn onderzoek analyseer ik de huidige situatie van het ITSO, identificeer ik welke beveiligingsinzichten ontbreken en onderzoek ik hoe het verbeteren van deze inzichten bijdraagt aan een hoger beveiligingsniveau. Een van de ontbrekende inzichten werk ik uit als Proof of Concept, waarbij ik gericht advies geef over geschikte tooling. Tot slot geef ik aanbevelingen voor methodes om het proces van toolinventarisatie en verbetering structureel te borgen.

Aether Sentinel is a secure, cloud-native administration interface designed to provide Swisscom’s DevOps teams with centralized control over the AETHER orchestration platform. The interface allows for immediate management of orchestration workflows while making sure that access is regulated through ALB (Application Load Balancer) authentication linked with Swisscom’s IAM roles.

The application offers a web-based interface for managing dark launch configurations, monitoring and controlling orchestration processes, maintaining user whitelists, and configuring system-level access and error messages. It provides full visibility into active orchestration instances, including status, backend interactions, provisioning stages, and failure handling. All administrative actions are logged with timestamps and user identifiers to ensure complete traceability.

Deployed within Swisscom’s iAWS environment and powered by Kubernetes via EKS, Aether Sentinel is designed for scalability, resilience, and secure operation. The backend, developed in Golang, exposes APIs for orchestration control, event logging, and configuration management. The Angular-based frontend delivers a clean, responsive user experience.

Aether Sentinel plays a critical role within Swisscom’s internal toolset. It combines access control, real-time observability, and seamless integration with the AETHER orchestration engine, ensuring orchestration processes remain secure, flexible, and fully traceable.

The focus for this project was chemical hazards, alongside observational skills and situational awareness.

This involved entering, analysing, and taking pictures of evidence to identify the CBRN hazard being prepared for use. The original training was labour and time intensive to setup for the teacher, with only one trainee being able to partake at a time. Now, a room of trainees can simultaneously practice the same scenario, while allowing the teacher more time for feedback and grading.

In het kader van mijn afstudeertraject heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar de verbetering van de enquêtefunctionaliteit binnen een complianceplatform. De bestaande applicatie wordt ingezet voor het verzamelen van belangrijke gegevens in een gereguleerde context, waarbij gebruiksvriendelijkheid en betrouwbaarheid essentieel zijn.

Het project richtte zich op het optimaliseren van de gebruikerservaring en interactie rondom het invullen van enquêtes. Door middel van praktijkgericht onderzoek en iteratieve validatie met eindgebruikers zijn knelpunten in kaart gebracht en vertaald naar gerichte ontwerpverbeteringen.

De voorgestelde oplossingen zijn ontworpen met behulp van bewezen UI/UX-principes en gericht op een efficiëntere, duidelijkere en intuïtievere gebruikerservaring. Het resultaat is een gebruiksvriendelijker enquêteproces dat beter aansluit op de behoeften van de doelgroep.

During my graduation internship at ON2IT Cybersecurity, I developed a solution that helps identify and close gaps between intended and observed network traffic flows between protect surfaces. In cybersecurity terms, protect surfaces represent the most critical assets, and according to Zero Trust principles, only strictly defined traffic should be allowed between them.

Today, validating whether actual traffic aligns with business intent is a manual and time-consuming task. There is no automated way to continuously compare what traffic should be allowed versus what is actually occurring. My project addresses this challenge by building a program that automates this comparison.

The result is a fully developed application that collects, analyses, and reports on these flows. It provides clear visuals and summaries, enabling both ON2IT and its customers to gain insight into potentially risky traffic patterns. This allows them to respond more quickly, refine firewall policies, and ensure better alignment with Zero Trust strategies.

The tool supports ON2IT in delivering added value to customers by offering deeper visibility into actual network behavior, helping identify blind spots, and strengthening overall cyber resilience. But also introduces a scalable method for automating Zero Trust validation in complex network environments. This approach makes Zero Trust policies actionable and measurable, turning theory into operational insight.

In traditional cybersecurity companies, red teams (who hack systems) and blue teams (who defend systems) often work separately. This separation can lead to missed opportunities for learning and improving threat detection and response. As cyber threats continue to evolve, organizations must adopt more collaborative approaches.

This purple teaming framework focuses on the collaboration of the red and blue teams. Red teamers execute realistic attack simulations and share their results with the blue team, who in turn provide insights into the detection strategies they used. It enables both teams to grow in a competitive environment where red teams advance their offensive techniques, while blue teams sharpen their detection and response skills.

The result of this project is a purple teaming framework that provides structure and guidance needed to perform purple teaming exercises effectively. It supports the simulation of real-world attacks, documentation of attack techniques and detection strategies. These simulations are based on the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by advanced threat groups. Results are mapped to frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, helping the team visualize logging coverage, rate detection performance, and identify gaps in security.

In short, this purple teaming framework combines the strengths of red and blue teams with a collaborative and structured approach, allowing teams to work together and find detection gaps in security tools.

AT-Automation, based in Weert, specializes in visualizing and optimizing industrial processes through tailored HMI, SCADA, and MES solutions. During my internship, I contributed to the creation of a scalable and interactive sales demo built with the Ignition platform.

Ignition is a powerful industrial software platform used to build applications for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing industrial operations. It combines SCADA, MES, and IIoT capabilities into one unified environment.

The goal of the project was to develop a standalone demo environment that could clearly showcase the functionalities of Ignition without relying on live customer systems. The existing demos were either outdated or too complex to be safely used by non-technical staff during sales presentations. My solution addresses this by offering an intuitive, self-contained demo based on a fictional cookie factory: "Cookies & Co".

This demo demonstrates how Ignition can support smart manufacturing through real-time data visualization, performance monitoring, and process optimization. It uses a simulation-based approach to generate realistic fake data, making it easy to present without the need for a live connection or technical supervision.

The result is a future-ready, easy-to-use tool that helps sales managers effectively showcase the power and flexibility of Ignition in industrial environment safely, clearly, and with minimal setup.

During my graduation internship at byCape, I focused on improving the workflow within Template Designer, a design tool used to automate ad creation through reusable templates and dynamic layers. The current process of configuring templates, especially the manual addition of layer inputs (elements such as editable text, images, colours and groups), turned out to be time-consuming and prone to inconsistent structure.

To address this, I proposed and prototyped a solution that uses automation to streamline the layer input setup. Based on predefined rules and common usage patterns, the system automatically looks through design layers and adds relevant layer inputs. For example, a text layer will automatically receive options for editing content, colour and size, structured clearly within appropriate groups. On top of that, I applied UX best practices to improve existing behaviours in the layer inputs view, such as marking newly added layer inputs and an easier nesting of layer inputs - a behaviour that was already there, but hidden and easily forgettable.

The project involved extensive user testing, technical research and the exploration of AI-based enhancements, such as integrating machine learning to analyse design structure or brand guidelines for more intelligent recommendations. While the initial prototype relies on rule-based logic, the solution is designed to be extended with technologies like Computer Vision or Machine Learning for more dynamic and context-aware automation. Based on the prototype, I used React and Typescript, and an existing code-base from the company to implement these changes in a live workflow.

Additionally, to reduce confusion on the different views of Template Designer, I worked on a prototype that used reverse-engineering to change the order in which layer inputs are added, and make it more accessible to users.

In Nederland maken miljoenen mensen gebruik van eHealth-platforms zoals MijnGezondheid en MedGemak om online contact te hebben met hun huisarts. Dit platform is marktleider en onmisbaar voor veel patiënten, maar de gebruiksvriendelijkheid laat soms te wensen over. Vooral bij het versturen van een bericht naar de dokter of het maken van een afspraak raken gebruikers snel het overzicht kwijt.

In mijn project heb ik onderzocht hoe deze twee essentiële flows – bericht sturen en afspraak maken – eenvoudiger, intuïtiever en prettiger kunnen worden. Door gebruikersfeedback te verzamelen en bestaande knelpunten te analyseren, ontdekte ik dat de huidige interface verwarrend is, met te veel losse stappen en onduidelijke keuzes.

Mijn voorstel is een vernieuwde flow waarin de gebruiker centraal staat: een helder startscherm met duidelijke keuzes en een begeleid proces dat je stap voor stap door de opties leidt. Wil je een bericht sturen? Dan helpt de app je om je vraag goed te formuleren. Wil je een afspraak maken? Dan zie je in één oogopslag de beschikbare momenten en plan je snel je consult.

Het doel: een app die patiënten zonder frustratie door het proces loodst en hen meer regie geeft over hun zorg. Met mijn concept draag ik bij aan een toekomstbestendig platform dat voor miljoenen Nederlanders het digitale contact met de huisarts eenvoudiger, toegankelijker en mensgerichter maakt.

Met de toenemende dreiging van cyberincidenten en de groeiende complexiteit van IT-omgevingen wordt een goed georganiseerd en effectief CERT steeds crucialer. In dit onderzoek heb ik onderzocht welke organisatorische, technische en operationele stappen nodig zijn om een CERT-team op te zetten, welke wet- en regelgeving toepasselijk is en welke best practices beschikbaar zijn voor een succesvolle implementatie.
Hiervoor is voornamelijk literatuuronderzoek uitgevoerd en heb ik gesprekken gevoerd met meerdere stakeholders om de meningen vanuit de afdelingen helder te krijgen. Het resultaat is een advies en aanbevelingen voor de implementatie van een CERT.

During my graduation internship at DLL’s Legal Department, I worked on enhancing the data reporting practices following the department’s recent adoption of a formal data strategy and the introduction of Power BI. Although reports were being created on demand, there was no consistent framework in place. My project focused on building a structured and sustainable reporting environment by establishing a centralized SharePoint workspace to organize data sources, reports, and security files. I implemented a row-level security model to ensure appropriate access based on user roles and developed new Power BI reports tailored to the legal team’s needs. Additionally, I created a comprehensive framework outlining best practices for data import and transformation within Power BI, including a data accuracy checklist to address challenges arising from manual data entry by non-technical staff. To support ongoing data quality, I also designed a data refresh strategy and fallback plan. As part of this initiative, I conducted a workshop to raise awareness about data accuracy and encourage better data entry practices. This project aims to improve data governance, increase reporting efficiency, and support the department’s goal of becoming more data-driven.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerproject heb ik een volledige CI/CD-pipeline ontwikkeld waarin beveiliging is opgenomen in elke fase van het ontwikkelproces. De pipeline controleert automatisch op fouten in de broncode, kwetsbare software onderdelen en verdachte activiteiten tijdens het gebruik van de applicatie. Ik heb hierbij verschillende tools toegepast, zoals Semgrep en Gitleaks voor codecontrole, Syft en Grype voor het scannen van gebruikte software, en OWASP ZAP voor het testen van de beveiliging tijdens gebruik. Daarnaast wordt er automatisch een SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) aangemaakt om inzicht te geven in alle gebruikte componenten. Na de controles wordt de applicatie veilig uitgerold via Argo CD en Argo Rollouts. Tijdens runtime worden verdachte acties bewaakt met behulp van Falco. Het doel van dit project was om beveiliging niet achteraf toe te voegen, maar direct te integreren in het ontwikkelproces. Hierdoor worden fouten sneller gevonden, risico’s beperkt en is de kwaliteit van de software beter gewaarborgd.

During my graduation internship at HighTech Innovators, I investigated how sustainable software practices can be integrated into real-world DevOps workflows. The focus was on measuring and reducing the CO₂ emissions of backend applications and developer processes. This involved selecting and implementing energy measurement tools within Azure CI/CD pipelines.
The project began with a technical and stakeholder analysis to understand the deployment setup, team workflows, and sustainability priorities. After evaluating several tools, Cardamon was chosen for its suitability for integration into existing CI/CD workflows. I integrated it into the CI/CD pipeline of a real client project ("Education Fund") using a dedicated measurement slot to safely run power consumption tests without disrupting delivery.
Once the setup was verified, I conducted a test measurement and prepared the infrastructure for more advanced energy analysis. In the final phase, I explored how Large Language Models (LLMs) could be used to analyze code, estimate computational cost, and suggest optimizations aimed at reducing energy usage. This resulted in a prototype method for energy-aware code improvement.
The outcome includes a working measurement setup, technical documentation for sustainable CI/CD practices, and a reusable blueprint for integrating energy insights into development. These results are also relevant for HighTech Innovators’ broader strategy to offer greener development practices to clients.

During my graduation internship at Iquality, I designed and developed an AI-driven solution aimed at improving the warranty claim process for Damen Shipyards. The claim process itself is part of the “My Damen” customer portal. However, I created a separate environment to demonstrate AI agents that support both customers and service staff. These agents detect missing or incorrect information, suggest necessary improvements, and guide users through the entire claim submission and processing workflow. This solution helps address issues like incomplete or inaccurate claim submissions, which often cause delays. These delays include excessive back-and-forth communication between customers and service employees, and they lead to an increased workload for the service team. The project showcases how AI can streamline operations while maintaining ethical and secure data handling practices.

Additionally, I conducted extensive research on several topics such as agent-based AI systems, improving user experience, selecting appropriate technologies and architecture, and measuring solution effectiveness. Mijn stage richt zich op de toepassing van NLP binnen Andes, een specialist op het gebied van geodata. Het bedrijf verwerkt geodata tot producten die gebruikt worden in geografische toepassingen. Het doel was om een systeem te ontwikkelen waarmee medewerkers zonder technische achtergrond databasevragen kunnen stellen in natuurlijke taal, waarna deze automatisch worden omgezet in correcte SQL-query’s.

Tijdens het ontwikkelen van dit systeem waren er verschillende uitdagingen en keuzes van belang. Zo heb ik onderzocht welk Large Language Model (LLM) geschikt is voor deze taak, hoe nauwkeurig en efficiënt het model SQL-query’s kan genereren, en hoe de veiligheid en privacy gewaarborgd kunnen worden. Daarnaast heb ik bepaald welke architectuur gebruikt kan worden om de prestaties en betrouwbaarheid van het systeem te optimaliseren.

Big Pillows maakt tuin- en terrasmeubels voor particulieren en horecazaken. Een prachtig product, met de ambitie om verder te groeien. Maar groei vraagt om meer dan alleen goede ideeën — het vraagt om structuur, overzicht en richting.

Samen met Big Pillows ben ik op zoek gegaan naar hoe je ervoor zorgt dat processen meegroeien met je organisatie. Hoe houd je grip, zonder de menselijke maat te verliezen? Met het ERP-systeem Structabl zijn we gestart met het digitaliseren en herstructureren van processen. Niet om alles te automatiseren, maar juist om inzicht te creëren. Zodat medewerkers begrijpen waar ze staan, en de organisatie weet waar ze naartoe wil.
Een dashboard speelt daarin straks een belangrijke rol: als richtingaanwijzer. Maar vóór je dat punt bereikt, moet je keuzes maken. Welke processen wil je stroomlijnen? Waar zitten de knelpunten? Hoe neem je iedereen mee? En vooral: welke uitdagingen kom je onderweg tegen?

In dit project heb ik gekeken naar zowel de organisatie als de mensen die er werken. Want echte verandering ontstaat pas als iedereen het samen doet — stap voor stap. Ik heb processen in kaart gebracht, advies gegeven en voorstellen gedaan voor hoe het ERP-systeem zich verder kan ontwikkelen. In deze presentatie neem ik je mee in dat verhaal. Van eerste stap tot toekomstvisie. Een reis naar overzicht, duidelijkheid en grip.

For my internship at AmeXio, I was assigned to improve the current conference room booking process. The company uses Microsoft Outlook to book rooms, but employees face several issues, such as unclear room availability, difficulty booking multiple days, and the lack of a user-friendly overview. There's also no way to book rooms directly from tablets in meeting rooms, which limits ad-hoc bookings.

To solve these problems, I developed a custom front-end application using React. The app allows users to easily check room availability, filter by date or room, and make single or recurring bookings. It also supports ad-hoc bookings via tablets in meeting rooms, shows a central TV overview of current room availability, and includes both mobile and desktop versions with an interactive office map. Users can also view, manage, and cancel their upcoming bookings through a clear and accessible interface.

This research focused on optimizing Trespa’s Master Data Management (MDM) processes. Trespa is an multinational production company, making laminate panels for interior and exterior.

The MDM processes are currently time-consuming and error-prone due to repetitive manual validations and inconsistent communication. Based on stakeholder interviews, process analysis, and a structured requirements list, key needs were identified: automation of recurring checks, improved data quality, and better user interaction.
A shortlist of tools was evaluated, including OpenAI API and Microsoft Copilot Studio. While OpenAI showed strong performance in semantic interpretation and flexible AI logic, Microsoft Copilot Studio proved more aligned with Trespa’s existing infrastructure and user environment.

Copilot Studio allows the creation of AI-driven assistants within the Microsoft ecosystem. It integrates smoothly with Teams, SharePoint, and Power Automate, enabling automated validation flows. In the test setup, a Copilot agent, combined with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, to successfully validated product configurations against guidelines and automate this whole process. The agent provided real-time feedback in natural language and helped reduce incorrect submissions before reaching MDM. Security and compliance are also guaranteed, as Copilot Studio operates within Microsoft 365 standards (GDPR-compliant, role-based access, DLP).

Given these results, Microsoft Copilot Studio was selected for the Proof of Concept. It addresses the most critical bottlenecks, supports end-users effectively, and offers a clear path for broader deployment across Trespa’s data management landscape. This solution directly contributes to reducing processing time, improving data accuracy, and laying the foundation for a smarter, more efficient MDM environment.

This source is defined in Java and shared through JSON Schema that defines the structure and constraints of "Things" (e.g., sensors or devices), ensuring consistency across the platform.

The solution fetches these models from the server and uses them to render user-friendly, validated forms in real time. I collaborated with manufacturers and integrators to improve usability, and I implemented an automated testing pipeline to ensure that form behavior remains consistent as the models evolve.

Op basis van gebruikersonderzoek, waarin ik klanten heb gevraagd naar hun ervaringen met het huidige systeem, heb ik inzicht gekregen in de grootste frustraties en wensen. Deze inzichten heb ik gecombineerd met trends, technische ontwikkelingen en een concurrentieanalyse.

Vervolgens heb ik een nieuw ontwerp gemaakt dat focust op gebruiksvriendelijkheid, duidelijke navigatie en betrouwbaarheid. Dit design ben ik nu technisch aan het uitwerken tot een functionerend prototype. Daarbij maak ik gebruik van moderne frontendtechnieken, met aandacht voor schaalbaarheid, performance en responsive gedrag.

Het prototype wordt niet alleen intern getest, maar zal ook daadwerkelijk ingezet worden als nieuwe ticketshop. Hierdoor sluit mijn werk direct aan op de praktijk en heeft het een concrete impact op de gebruikerservaring van Ticketsplus-klanten.

Een nieuwe trend: met AI naar een autonome wereld. Tijdens dit onderzoek is deze stap gezet binnen het HR-domein. Van het verwerken van verlofaanvragen en het analyseren van salarisstroken tot het classificeren van werkdruk en het visualiseren van trends in management dashboards, alles wordt mogelijk gemaakt door de inzet van één centrale oplossing: de Virtual Assistant Compensation & Benefits.

Deze slimme HR-assistent is ontwikkeld met als hoofddoel om processen binnen organisaties efficiënter, toegankelijker en gebruiksvriendelijker te maken voor zowel medewerkers als HR-afdelingen. Werknemers krijgen op een laagdrempelige manier inzicht in hun loonstroken en kunnen direct vragen stellen over bijvoorbeeld looncomponenten of afwijkingen ten opzichte van voorgaande maanden. Tegelijkertijd wordt de HR-afdeling ondersteund in het vroegtijdig signaleren van overbelasting en het voorspellen van verlofbehoefte, wat bijdraagt aan een gezonder werkklimaat.

De assistant is gebouwd met behulp van de nieuwste technologieën binnen het Microsoft-ecosysteem, waaronder Azure, OpenAI en AutoGen Agents. Dankzij deze technieken is er een schaalbare, veilige en toekomstbestendige oplossing gerealiseerd die aansluit op de behoeften van de markt.

Deze innovatie laat zien dat AI inmiddels verder gaat dan enkel automatisering; het draagt daadwerkelijk bij aan een autonome en proactieve HR-ondersteuning. De resultaten van dit onderzoek tonen aan dat deze aanpak niet alleen technisch haalbaar is, maar ook breed toepasbaar binnen organisaties.

Bij Xaurum werk ik aan een uitdagende en impactvolle opdracht: het vernieuwen van hun huidige data-importsysteem, van VB.Net naar .Net Core. Dit systeem verwerkt complexe datasets van verschillende klanten, elk met unieke structuren. Deze diversiteit brengt uitdagingen met zich mee, waaronder de noodzaak om bij elke nieuwe klant specifieke code aan te passen of toe te voegen.

Dit proces is tijdrovend en moeilijk te onderhouden, en mijn taak is om daar verandering in te brengen. Door moderne technieken en ontwerpprincipes toe te passen, ontwerp ik een nieuw systeem dat flexibeler, efficiënter en onderhoudsvriendelijker is. Het doel? Een oplossing die met minder code dezelfde veelzijdigheid biedt, zodat Xaurum sneller en eenvoudiger kan inspelen op de wensen van nieuwe klanten.

Deze innovatie zorgt niet alleen voor lagere onderhoudskosten, maar maakt het ook mogelijk om klanten beter en sneller van dienst te zijn. Dit project combineert technische expertise, creativiteit en strategisch denken om een duurzame oplossing te realiseren.

During my internship at AmeXio, I researched how AI could optimize the log analysis process carried out by the support engineering team.

Currently, support engineers manually analyse and cross-check large volumes of log messages to identify potential issues. To assist in this, AmeXio developed an internal tool that visualizes and organizes these log entries. However, two key challenges remain.

First, the volume of incoming logs. While most messages can be ignored, the sheer volume increases the risk of human error, as critical issues may be missed.

Second, the process relies heavily on individual heuristics. When one engineer fails to recognize a log pattern, they relegate it to their colleagues for further inspection. This leads to fragmented decision-making and inconsistent response times.

In this project, I explored various models for extracting relevant insights to address these issues. This includes detection of Personal Identifiable Information (PII), automated log filtering and anomaly detection in logs and metrics. The findings from this research will form the foundation for further AI development.

By integrating these technologies into the workflow of support engineers, AmeXio can centralize pattern recognition and anomaly detection, reducing dependency on individual expertise. This approach not only improves accuracy but also allows for more efficient resource allocation by focusing human efforts where they matter most.

Tijdens mijn stage heb ik onderzocht hoe Forvis Mazars haar klanten kan helpen het niveau van de cyberbeveilging en veerkrachtigheid te verhogen door gebruikt van cyber threat intelligence (CTI), threat modelling, en bij extensie, risicomanagement. Hierin kijk ik naar hoe deze service kan werken voor meerdere sectoren zonder het gebruiken van sensoren bij klanten, welke threat intelligence data sources en feeds hiervoor nodig zijn, welke technieken, en ook hoe deze oplossing kan helpen bij proactieve threat detection en incident response. Deze service moest ook worden gedocumenteerd en uitgewerkt tot een prototype product.
De service heeft twee verschillende wegen, een weg die de klant informeert en begeleid in threat modelling en doormiddel van Forvis Mazars' CTI deze kan invullen. De ander weg richt zich op de klant adviseren over hoe CTI in elkaar zit, wat zij zelf kunnen doen om dit te implementeren, hoe zij met informatie kunnen omgaan en wat hiervoor nodig is.
Hiervoor heb ik ook bestaande klanten geholpen via beide wegen om de service te testen. Een door middel van een interactieve CTI en threat modelling workshop en een andere door middel van het adviseren en opzetten van concept rapporten.

During my graduation internship at JackpotMC, I designed and realised a fully automatic, AI integrated, chat bot in Discord using Java. This involved doing extensive research on AI models, Discord bots, and integrating both of them. The bot handles basic ticketing functionality, just like you're used to with any other ticket bot. It can open and close tickets, assign them to moderators, and respond automatically to certain types of questions using AI generated answers.

The bot can still be viewed and used on the JackpotMC Discord server.

For my graduation internship, I focused on improving the StudyKit research platform by replacing the outdated MSX device with a more efficient, user-friendly, and low-maintenance alternative. The aim was to identify a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) wearable that could integrate seamlessly with StudyKit while reducing administrative overhead and long-term support costs.

To evaluate potential solutions, I developed two separate implementations. The first integrated Evalan’s BACE Go device into the platform, while the second involved building a custom mobile application capable of connecting to smart wearables using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and uploading data directly to the StudyKit cloud. This comparative approach provided insight into the trade-offs between pre-built commercial devices and more flexible, in-house solutions, and laid the groundwork for a scalable, maintainable replacement for the MSX.

By analyzing existing custom implementations developed at NXP Semiconductors and comparing them to standard C library functions, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of current security measures and propose optimizations. The project seeks to achieve a balance between performance and security, ensuring that countermeasures do not introduce excessive overhead. This analysis will inform future cryptographic designs, potentially leading to more secure and efficient systems.

ASML's Global Support Center (GSC) and Customer Support (CS) operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Around 3 locations in the world. During the work they deal with various clients and their machine issues, aiming to resolve possible problems at greatest speed.

Since DUV (Deep Ultra Violet) systems are sold to customers who use them for producing cutting-edge technology in semiconductor industry, every minute of machine downtime is costly. Where the current platform to track machines that are down became more and more unorganized and confusing over time. Occasionally containing unnecessary information.

To resolve this issue, by using Mendix Low-Code Development Platform (LCDP), ASML decided they needed a new software solution which will resolve all those problems. Keeping the current process in place while improving the efficiency, reliability and security of the system. The system is planned to be used by more than 160 people every day, where users can provide overview of their daily work and provide escalation progress updates on daily basis. Simultaneously the system is going to run automated processes that will cover the correct exchange of internal information. Which will enable live updates to the right machine escalation status.

Around 500 new escalations arrive at the table of GSC monthly, where they monitor each one of them and solve them by using process already defined. To enhance efficiency, the GSC team needed a new solution that enables a more time-efficient and concise approach for solving customer support tasks.

Hence, the development of the new operating system for GSC will enable ASML's employees to carry out day-to-day, sometimes time-consuming, duty in a more sophisticated way while maintaining the highest precision. Additionally, resolve customer specifc issue in less-time, due to the more organized structure and overview.
