ABN AMRO (AAB), a leading Dutch bank, focuses on Northwestern Europe, offering loans, mortgages, and banking services. AAB prioritizes secure access to data, with the Data Marketplace (DMP) visualizing metadata on the Digital Integration & Access Layer (DIAL), which manages data ingestion, validation, storage, and distribution. Recently, the Central Data Office (CDO) was reorganized into "Grids," including the Data Management (DM) Grid, featuring the Process Orchestration (PO) team. This team, with Managed Sourcing (MS) and Managed Consuming (MC) as sub-teams, handles data: MS focuses on onboarding golden data and data products, while MC assists in data product creation. Both teams collaborate with data consumers throughout the data request process.

MS currently uses JIRA Agile for tracking requests and PowerBI (PBI) for managing information, but as MS transitions to Azure Boards (AB), direct AB-to-PBI connections are not allowed, requiring data sharing via DIAL. MC, working with AB, lacks dashboards for tracking data product creation processes. The challenge is the absence of a comprehensive overview for MS, MC, and data consumers regarding data product onboarding, golden data onboarding and data product creation, hindering progress tracking, informed decision-making, and bottleneck identification.

The project aimed to create a transparent dashboard for managing golden data onboarding, data product onboarding, and data product creation using the Development Oriented Triangulation (DOT) framework.

During my graduation internship at LiveWall/Mach8, I focused on automating email marketing processes using Generative AI. My main goal was to help the marketing team improve customer segmentation, personalize emails, and generate content more efficiently.

The project involved using AI to handle tasks that typically take a lot of time, such as grouping customers based on their behavior and preferences, personalizing email content for each customer, and creating engaging marketing messages. By automating these tasks, the aim was to make the marketing workflow faster and more effective.

A key part of my work was understanding what current Generative AI tools excel at and where they fall short. While these tools are great for automation and personalization, it was important to recognize their limitations. This ensured that AI supports the marketers without replacing the creativity and strategic thinking that humans provide.

Throughout my internship, I worked closely with the marketing team to understand their specific needs and challenges. This collaboration allowed me to develop AI solutions that were not only technically effective but also practical for everyday use.

Dit project onderzoekt AI-mogelijkheden om klant- en medewerkerstevredenheid binnen het Service team van GAC Business Solutions te verbeteren, met specifieke aandacht voor Microsoft CoPilot. Een intern onderzoek toonde aan dat de klanttevredenheid in november 2023 onverwacht laag was, wat de noodzaak benadrukt om processen te optimaliseren en het klantgevoel beter te begrijpen.

AI kan een cruciale rol spelen bij het analyseren van klant-sentiment en het bieden van inzichten. Met behulp van CoPilot wordt onderzocht hoe klant-medewerker interacties verlopen. Deze technologie helpt patronen in klantgedrag en sentimenten te herkennen, waardoor medewerkers gerichter en proactiever kunnen handelen. Dit verhoogt niet alleen de klanttevredenheid, maar vermindert ook de werkdruk van medewerkers.

Het project heeft drie doelen:
1. Klanttevredenheid verbeteren door efficiëntere en consistentere service.
2. Medewerkerstevredenheid verhogen door een beter begrip van het klantgevoel.
3. AI introduceren door te laten zien hoe GAC AI-tools zoals CoPilot kan benutten binnen hun Service processen.

Door CoPilot te gebruiken, biedt dit project een innovatieve aanpak om klantrelaties te versterken en de interne werkcultuur te verbeteren. Het uiteindelijke resultaat is een organisatie die beter begrijpt hoe ze klanten kunnen helpen en verbeteren, terwijl medewerkers efficiënter en met plezier werken.

Quercis is een partner van Exact. Exact levert ERP-systemen zoals Exact Globe Plus en Exact Synergy. Deze ERP-systemen helpen bedrijven hun bedrijfsprocessen te stroomlijnen.
Quercis heeft de Quercis Basic Templates (QBT) ontwikkeld om het gebruik van Exact-software verder te verbeteren. De QBT functioneren als tussenlaag tussen de Exact-software en de klant. De QBT voegen nieuwe functionaliteiten toe aan de Exact-software en maken het gebruik ervan eenvoudiger en gebruiksvriendelijker. Ze zijn speciaal ontworpen om beter aan de behoeften van klanten te voldoen en helpen bedrijven om efficiënter te werken met hun ERP-software.
Hoewel de QBT waardevol zijn, kan het keuzeproces voorgaand de ontwikkeling van de QBT worden verbeterd. Het huidige keuzeproces, waarin functionaliteiten en eisen worden bepaald, is suboptimaal.
Problemen binnen dit keuzeproces omvatten:
• Onvoldoende gestructureerde marktvraag: Klantbehoeften worden verzameld, maar niet altijd kwantitatief vastgelegd, waardoor de prioriteiten voor templateontwikkeling minder duidelijk zijn.
• Ontbreken van technische toetsing: De technische haalbaarheid en kosten-batenanalyse worden niet systematisch getest en gedocumenteerd, wat vertragingen en hogere kosten kan veroorzaken.
• Onvoldoende documentatie van projectscope en -status: Het ontbreken van duidelijke documentatie over projectstatus en scope leidt tot inefficiënte communicatie en vertragingen door wijzigende prioriteiten.
De problemen binnen het keuzeproces zijn opgelost door een gewenste situatie te moddeleren waarin de problemen worden geëlimineerd. Er is een systeem ontwikkeld dat structuur biedt door informatie, zoals klantbehoeften, technische haalbaarheid, projectstatus en scope, gestructureerd te documenteren in een portaal (een digitaal platform dat fungeert als centraal toegangspunt voor informatie, tools en services).

The tool uses advanced natural language processing (NLP), enabling users to ask questions in plain language and receive precise answers. This eliminates the need for technical expertise, making complex data accessible to everyone.

In addition to the technical achievements, the project evaluates the scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness of AI technologies like OpenAI. It provides a glimpse into how AI can transform the way businesses manage and interact with their data. De ondersteuning wordt gegeven in de vorm van vakdidactische en pedagogische aanbevelingen, Dit gebeurt met behulp van AI. Dit verhoogt de kwaliteit van het trainingsaanbod van Sogeti omdat niet iedere medewerker die een training gaat verzorgen vakdidactisch en pedagogisch onderlegd is. Daarnaast heb ik gekeken naar de integratie van verschillende leermiddelen en de mogelijkheid voor een eigen leermiddel van Sogeti om meer interactieve delen toe te voegen aan de gastlessen/workshops.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerproject bij Huddle heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar het verbeteren van de gebruikerservaring van leden op het Huddle-platform, met een focus op het verhogen van motivatie en doorzettingsvermogen bij het volgen van cursussen. Het doel was inzicht te krijgen in waarom leden vaak niet beginnen aan een cursus of deze niet afronden, en oplossingen te ontwikkelen die deze problemen aanpakken.

Om deze uitdagingen aan te pakken, heb ik diverse visuele oplossingen in Figma ontwikkeld en getest voor het Huddle-platform. Deze oplossingen dragen bij aan een verbeterde gebruikerservaring van de Huddle-leden.

Supplydrive is een softwarebedrijf dat bedrijven in de toeleverketen helpt bij het automatiseren van datastromen. In mijn afstudeeronderzoek heb ik de vraag onderzocht: "Hoe kan Supplydrive meer zicht krijgen op de status van hun informatiebeveiliging en compliance?"

Ik heb gekeken naar hoe een Information Security Management System (ISMS) hierbij kan helpen. Een ISMS biedt structuur om risico's in kaart te brengen, gevoelige informatie te beschermen en continu verbeteringen door te voeren. Daarnaast heb ik onderzocht welke aspecten van een ISMS relevant zijn voor Supplydrive, welke tools geschikt zijn voor implementatie en welke risico’s momenteel de grootste prioriteit hebben.

ISO 27001 heeft in dit onderzoek als leidraad gediend voor de opzet van het ISMS, aangezien het een wereldwijd erkende norm is voor informatiebeveiliging. ISO 27001 biedt waardevolle handvatten voor het verbeteren van informatiebeveiliging en het waarborgen van compliance.

In mijn presentatie laat ik zien wat een ISMS concreet kan betekenen voor bedrijven zoals Supplydrive. Het helpt niet alleen bij het beheren van risico’s en het waarborgen van compliance, maar bouwt ook vertrouwen op bij klanten en partners.

During my graduation internship at Cloudbear, I worked on an automated solution for network device configuration, like switches and routers mainly using SR-Linux, a network operational system created for Nokia's networking gear. This solution solves the issues that come from manually configuring their datacenters' network, like human error and time waste. The automation is done with the help of tools like Ansible together with NetBox, a network inventory system that is being used to keep track of network devices, server devices and the details about them. All of this is being automatically done by a CI pipeline, created to test newly generated configurations inside a virtual network created by Containerlab before it finally gets deployed onto the production network.

Tijdens mijn afstuderen heb ik voor GouwIT een applicatie ontwikkeld die berichtenverkeer afhandelt volgens het ebMS protocol. Hierbij staan de betrouwbaarheid en inzichtelijk maken van de uitwisseling centraal. Dit heb ik gedaan met moderne technologieën die aansluiten op de huidige technologystack van GouwIT. De applicatie is schaalbaar en uitbreidbaar opgezet zodat voor de verschillende koppelingen binnen GouwIT die volgens het ebMS protocol berichten uitwisselen 1 voor 1 de benodigde functionaliteiten kunnen worden geïmplementeerd. Voor de koppeling WOZ Massale Bevraging zijn de functionaliteiten tijdens het project geïmplementeerd, voor andere koppelingen zijn deze in het ontwerp opgenomen.

This integration will offer clients a streamlined login process, reduced password management complexity, and enhanced security. By adopting Microsoft SSO, CreAim reinforces its commitment to innovation, client satisfaction, and regulatory compliance in the evolving landscape of financial technology solutions.

In de huidige bedrijfsmarkt is het belangrijk geworden om datagedreven te werken. Dit geldt hetzelfde voor een advies- en accountancyorganisatie. Dit heeft Flynth adviseurs en accountants erkent en meegenomen in hun 5-jaren strategie. Om datagedreven te kunnen werken, speelt de datageletterdheidvaardigheden van de medewerkers een grote rol. Op dit moment is binnen Flynth de impressie dat onder andere data interpretatie, datakwaliteit en data-activisme vaardigheden van datageletterdheid verbeterd kunnen worden. Om het niveau van, onder andere, deze vaardigheden te verhogen wil Flynth trainingen gaan aanbieden. Hiervoor heeft Flynth eerst een inzicht nodig wat het daadwerkelijke huidige niveau is van de datageletterdheidvaardigheden van haar medewerkers. Dit wil Flynth gaan meten door middel van een data literacy test. Tijdens deze afstudeerstage wordt de data literacy test ontwikkeld, uitgevoerd en geanalyseerd, zodat Flynth met de opgehaalde informatie de juiste trainingen kan gaan ontwikkelen of aanbieden om de kennis-gap te dichten voor datageletterdheid.

Mobeye develops innovative solutions to secure devices and possessions in a simple and flexible way. The embedded devices from Mobeye offer functionalities such as reporting alarms, but also measuring, logging and remote control. What makes these devices unique is the combination of extreme low power usage and the use of the mobile network, which allows the devices to run independent from power and network infrastructures. Each product has its own range of sensors and outputs. For the customer, being able to rely on the product is of the utmost importance. To guarantee sufficient reliability and quality, all Mobeye devices undergo a thorough series of tests performed by the test engineers.

The main goal of this project is to design and realize a scalable and flexible new “test simulator” device which can test Mobeye devices using a black-box approach. This simulator consists of hardware and software which simulates input and monitors output of the device under test. The new device has to be compatible with the existing test infrastructure. Future development of new simulator and monitoring modules should be made as easy as possible through a well-designed architecture and comprehensive documentation on both hardware and software.

Simac is een bedrijf wat bekend staat om haar dienstverlenende karakter naar klanten, deze zijn voor namelijk van middelgroot tot groot formaat. Er is nu een beweging in gang gezet dat Simac dienstverlening om wil zetten naar meer standaard diensten en oplossingen. Karakter van deze diensten is dat er veel remote beheer kan plaatsvinden en dat mogelijkheden tot automatisering zijn toegenomen, daarnaast willen klanten inzicht hebben met betrekking tot de kwaliteit van deze diensten om op haar beurt met hun business te kunnen bespreken.

Een van deze diensten is de monitoring die wordt aangeboden.

Simac heeft verschillende manieren voor het monitoren van netwerken. Hiervoor wordt momenteel al een bepaalde tooling gebruik, welke dit is zal moeten blijken na verder diepgaand onderzoek en interviews met de huidige beheerders. Simac gebruik deze tooling vooral om reactief te monitoren en ze willen nu naar een manier en methodiek om preventief/proactief te monitoren, ze willen via verschillende methodieken en scripts gaan zorgen dat ze meer en beter inzicht krijgen in de apparatuur die in het netwerk van verschillende klanten hangen en zo krijgen ze dus een beter beeld bij de prestaties van deze apparatuur. Zo kan er dus vooraf op een aankomend probleem worden gereageerd. Zodat dus kan worden voorkomen dat een dergelijk probleem daadwerkelijk plaats gaat vinden, dit kan ook worden verwoord als “voorspellend monitoren”. Dit door automation en assurance met elkaar te combineren.

Dit portfolio gaat over mijn stage bij Deloox in Eindhoven, een webshop gespecialiseerd in cosmetica.

Het project richt zich op een probleem binnen de inkoopafdeling. Dagelijks ontvangen inkopers talloze lijsten van verschillende leveranciers, die vaak meer dan 2000 items bevatten. Deze lijsten worden momenteel ingelezen in het systeem om koopadviezen te genereren, gebaseerd op prijs en verkoopgegevens. Dit proces is echter tijdrovend en biedt geen voorafgaand inzicht in de kwaliteit van de lijsten, waardoor waardevolle tijd verloren gaat aan het verwerken van mogelijk irrelevante lijsten.

Het doel van dit project is om een oplossing te ontwikkelen waarmee inkoopmedewerkers vooraf inzicht krijgen in de kwaliteit en relevantie van een lijst, zonder het volledige proces van importeren en verwerken te doorlopen. Door een efficiëntere manier te vinden om de waarde van een lijst te beoordelen, kan de afdeling tijd besparen en zich beter richten op waardevolle inkoopmogelijkheden.

Cybercriminaliteit is een snelgroeiend gevaar. De vraag is dan ook niet óf er een cyberincident gaat gebeuren maar wanneer. En hoewel er niet op alles voorbereid kan worden is het echter wél belangrijk om een plan achter de hand te hebben wanneer er sprake is van een calamiteit. Er was in het verleden een plan hiervoor opgesteld, echter sluit deze niet aan op de huidige situatie. Zodoende ben ik tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bezig geweest met het opstellen van een Business Continuïteits Plan en Calamiteiten Herstelplan. Hiervoor heb ik de verschillende bedrijfsprocessen en risico’s geïdentificeerd. Het doel hierbij was om het plan bij te werken zodat dit aansluit op de huidige situatie en hierin ook cyber security in mee te nemen. Dit plan is vervolgens getest. Sioux Technologies BV is a high-tech solutions provider. They provide engineering services, execute projects for customers, and provide secondment services. The company started with software exclusively and since then has expanded to include mechatronics, electronic, math ware, and assembly services.

When developing a system within Sioux team, they used V-model approach to have high standard and make sure that the system works accordingly. This approach emphasizes rigorous testing throughout development alongside normal development of a system.

Since some teams within Sioux is using V-model approach, Sioux engineers must create acceptance tests during the development. Currently Sioux engineers create acceptance tests manually by referring to the defined requirements and then the engineers have to list test scenarios and develop the test cases. By doing this manually, it can lead to a longer development time. Sioux has an in-house modelling tool that they can utilize for automation in this process.

Sioux is experimenting with Large Language Models (LLMs) as part of its strategy to embrace and use the ongoing developments in the field. They believe that LLMs have the potential to help streamline their engineering process such as more efficient development process by combining LLMs with model driven engineering.

The assignment for this project is to create a software solution or a generator that can generate SpecFlow test cases from a chosen requirements and its model. The generator should utilize LLMs to help generate the test cases because the team behind Super Requirements and Supermodels wants to explore more about what LLMs can offer to achieve improvement on model driven engineering processes.

User Interaction Project Holobox & AI

Sinds april 2024 beschikt Mindlabs over een Holobox, een apparaat dat hologrammen en digitale 3D-objecten nabootst voor interactieve leerervaringen. Dit project is onderdeel van het Lectoraat Interaction Design (IXD) van Fontys en onderzoekt hoe deze technologie in combinatie met AI het onderwijs kan vernieuwen. Hoewel de Holobox veel potentie biedt, is de optimale manier om deze in te zetten nog niet bekend.

Het project richt zich op het verbeteren van interactievormen zoals touchscreens, spraakherkenning en andere hardwarematige interacties. Het doel is om de Holobox effectiever in te zetten in het onderwijs en zo een leuke, interactieve en gepersonaliseerde leerervaring te bieden. De primaire doelgroep bestaat uit kinderen van 9 tot 11 jaar.

Mijn rol binnen dit project is om verschillende interactievormen te analyseren en te testen. Ik onderzoek de voor- en nadelen van touch- en spraakinteracties binnen een educatieve context en verzamel feedback van gebruikers om vast te stellen welke methode het meest effectief is. Dit wordt gedaan aan de hand van gebruikerstests en validaties tijdens evenementen zoals het Weekend van de Wetenschap.

Op basis van dit onderzoek ontwikkel ik proof of concepts die de meest geschikte interactiemethoden demonstreren. Het uiteindelijke doel is om de Holobox niet alleen intuïtiever te maken, maar ook adaptief, zodat deze aansluit op de leerbehoeften van individuele gebruikers. Het project draagt zo bij aan de innovatie van onderwijs met behulp van geavanceerde technologie.

Scholengemeenschappen moeten in 2027 voldoen aan het Normenkader Informatiebeveiliging en Privacy. De opdrachtgever heeft een start gemaakt met de implementatie, maar deze is gestagneerd door technische en organisatorische uitdagingen.

Eerst is een onderzoek uitgevoerd naar de organisatorische knelpunten. Nadat deze in kaart waren gebracht, is een vergelijking gemaakt met andere scholengemeenschappen en commerciële organisaties. Vervolgens zijn op basis van de bevindingen oplossingen geformuleerd. Een van de belangrijkste bevindingen was dat er een projectmanagementtool nodig is om een complex project zoals het normenkader te managen. Via een pakketselectieproces is de meest geschikte tool gekozen.

Vervolgens is, door middel van een GAP-analyse en een audit, vastgesteld waar de opdrachtgever momenteel staat en welke stappen nog nodig zijn om te voldoen aan het normenkader. Op basis van deze bevindingen, in combinatie met de resultaten uit het knelpuntenonderzoek, is een gedetailleerd implementatieplan opgesteld.

Tenslotte is alles samengekomen door de bevindingen uit de onderzoeken, met het implementatieplan, in de gekozen tool te integreren. Hierbij is rekening gehouden met de requirements van de stakeholders en de wettelijke vereisten. Daarnaast is aandacht besteed aan zaken als training en scholing en beheer op langere termijn.

Phitaal heeft meerdere GGZ-instellingen door heel Nederland. Medische gegevens van zijn cliënten worden geregistreerd in een eigen ontwikkeld elektronisch patiëntendossier (EPD) genaamd Care-EPD. Door de jaren heen zijn de zorgbehandelmethoden verandert en is Care-EPD verouderd. Daarom heeft het bedrijf gekozen om Care-EPD te vervangen door een SAAS-systeem.

De cliëntendossiers die in Care-EPD staan, moeten beschikbaar blijven voor de wet, maar ook de medewerkers van Phitaal. Care-EPD is door ouderdom niet geschikt om te transformeren tot een archiefsysteem. Daarom is tijdens dit project onderzoek gedaan naar een alternatief. Zowel wettelijke eisen als wensen van de stakeholders spelen een rol binnen dit project. Op basis van deze wensen en eisen zijn verschillende oplossingen afgewogen.

Het archiefsysteem gaat zelf ontwikkeld worden en tijdens dit project zijn er al bepaalde functionaliteiten gerealiseerd.

Voor mijn afstudeerproject heb ik gewerkt aan het verbeteren van de navigatiestructuur van Profitmanager, een complex native Windows ERP-systeem dat wordt omgezet naar een webapplicatie. Het huidige navigatiesysteem is onoverzichtelijk, met te veel overbodige opties die het lastig maken voor gebruikers om snel de juiste informatie te vinden.

Het doel van mijn project was om een navigatiestructuur te ontwerpen die eenvoudiger, efficiënter en gebruiksvriendelijker is. Door een betere indeling en een logische opzet helpt het nieuwe ontwerp gebruikers om op een intuïtieve manier te navigeren tussen projecten, klanten en andere relevante informatie.

Naast de verbeterde navigatie heb ik gekeken naar manieren om de interface persoonlijker en overzichtelijker te maken, zoals het aanpassen van tabellen aan de specifieke behoeften van de gebruiker. Deze verbeteringen zorgen ervoor dat Profitmanager beter aansluit bij de praktijk en gebruiksvriendelijker wordt voor zowel nieuwe als ervaren gebruikers.

Techonomy is een full-service digital marketing agency die organisaties helpt bij het ontwikkelen en uitvoeren van data-gedreven marketingstrategieën. Binnen deze stage combineer ik de expertise van Techonomy met mijn analytische vaardigheden om inzichten te leveren die clubs helpen hun commerciële doelen te bereiken.

Mijn project richt zich op het analyseren van ticketverkoopgegevens om waardevolle inzichten te verkrijgen over het koopgedrag van supporters. Denk hierbij aan het onderscheiden van eenmalige en terugkerende kopers, het identificeren van populaire aankoopmomenten, en het analyseren van verkooptrends door de seizoenen heen. Deze inzichten worden gepresenteerd rapportages die specifiek zijn afgestemd op de behoeften van elke club.

Binnen Techonomy werk ik nauw samen met het marketingteam en de betrokken partijen van de CED om ervoor te zorgen dat de analyses praktisch toepasbaar zijn. Naast het analyseren van historische data onderzoek ik ook mogelijkheden om voorspellingen te doen over toekomstige verkooppatronen. Dit stelt clubs in staat om hun campagnes effectiever te plannen en hun stadionbezetting te optimaliseren.

Met dit project lever ik een belangrijke bijdrage aan een meer data-gedreven aanpak binnen de sportmarketing. Het biedt niet alleen waardevolle inzichten voor de clubs van de Keuken Kampioen Divisie, maar versterkt ook de positie van Techonomy als strategische partner voor de CED en haar leden.

The robot photobooth system, developed for a robotics company, features a sophisticated architecture combining mobile and robotic interfaces. Users interact with the system through a Progressive Web Application on their smartphones, controlling a robot equipped with dual 55" displays and a high-quality camera. The system captures photos and transforms them using AI image generation, creating unique artistic portraits.

In parallel with this technical development, the project involved scaling WeSmile, a technology startup founded a year prior. This dual-track approach provided unique insights, allowing entrepreneurial experience to inform technical decisions and vice-versa. The startup scaling activities included business development, market expansion, and product refinement, demonstrating the practical application of both technical and business skills.

The project showcases the ability to manage complex technical development while simultaneously growing a business venture, reflecting the real-world challenges of modern technology entrepreneurship. This combination of technical innovation and business development represents a comprehensive approach to software engineering education and practical application.

By using advanced data analysis techniques, I want to uncover patterns such as seasonal trends and external influences. I’m also exploring how machine learning models can help forecast future workloads and support better decision-making.

On top of that, I’m looking at how AI-driven solutions can automate and enhance decision-making in areas like resource allocation and shipping times. Tools like dashboards and data visualization will also play a role in creating better planning and real-time adjustments.

In the end, I want to deliver a clear report on what’s causing workload changes, develop predictive models to anticipate demand, and recommend ways to improve efficiency. The goal is to help DHL handle workload variability more effectively, reduce costs, and ensure reliable service for ASML. This project will also set the stage for future AI-driven optimizations and long-term improvements in DHL’s logistics operations.

Hardware Interfacing Emulation of System Parts

During my graduation internship at DAF Trucks, a PACCAR company in Eindhoven, I researched, designed, and implemented an emulation solution for various system components. The goal was to bring integration testing to the developer's laptop, thereby reducing reliance on actual hardware in later stages of the development process.

The project began with an analysis of the system for which the emulator would be designed. I conducted research to determine which components could be emulated and which emulators would be suitable. This research process involved extensive communication with stakeholders.

The emulator aims to reduce the cost and time associated with testing the software by enabling Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) testing using simulated input/output in the early stages. This approach allows developers to test the integration of the software while working on the code, without needing access to the actual hardware.

By facilitating testing on the developer's laptop, this emulator solution will also enable other teams to address certain bugs (as some issues still require actual hardware) and test solutions for identified problems without relying on physical devices. Overall, this emulator will significantly cut costs and save time.

Furthermore, the project can be extended to fully integrate with the CARLA simulator, creating a more comprehensive testing framework.

Software Next Level Continuous Integration

Het doel van mijn stageproject is het moderniseren van de pipelines binnen de ontwikkelstraat van Gilde-BT. Deze verbetering richt zich op het optimaliseren van het build- en deploymentproces om sneller en betrouwbaarder software te kunnen leveren. Hierbij worden bestaande knelpunten, zoals trage pipelines en afhankelijkheidsfouten binnen Entity Framework Core, aangepakt.

Naast het optimaliseren van de pipelines onderzoek ik de mogelijkheden en voordelen van een migratie naar Azure. Dit doe ik door een volledige infrastructuur op te zetten als proof of concept (POC), waarmee wordt onderzocht hoe Azure kan bijdragen aan verbeteringen zoals schaalbaarheid, flexibiliteit en efficiëntie in het deployment-proces. Hoewel de keuze voor Azure binnen dit project niet definitief wordt vastgelegd, richt mijn onderzoek zich op het valideren van Azure als geschikte oplossing voor de toekomst.
De migratie naar Azure biedt ook kansen voor de integratie van nieuwe technologieën zoals Azure Service Bus en Chaos testing. Daarnaast wordt er aandacht besteed tijdens mijn project aan compliance en datasegregatie om te voldoen aan de vereisten van de ISO 27001-certificering.

During my graduation internship at Sue, I investigated and developed a solution for Sue's Multistax continuous application delivery platform that would allow developers to:
* Discover cloud resources from their cloud environments.
* Select which cloud resources to import into their Terraform/OpenTofu repository.
* Modify and view Terraform/OpenTofu configuration files.
* Create merge requests, allowing developers to merge the imported resources into their managed infrastructure
as code repositories.
This feature gives developers more control over their cloud environments and allows for easy discovery of potential cloud resources that currently are not managed by Terraform/OpenTofu. Het ontbreken van inzicht in de kostprijs maakt het lastig om deze door te berekenen naar een verkoopprijs. Tijdens mijn stage bij Opus Solutions heb ik onderzocht hoe de orderprocessen in gerbera- en potplantenkwekerijen efficiënter kunnen worden ingericht. Dit heeft geleid tot een concept dat zich richt op het registreren van de tijdsduur (arbeid) die wordt besteed aan het orderpicken van klantspecifieke orders.

Met behulp van een barcodescanner, gekoppeld aan de OPUSWatch, kan de pakbon van een order worden gescand. Hiermee wordt automatisch geregistreerd hoe lang het orderpicken van een specifieke order duurt. Deze gegevens bieden kwekerijen meer inzicht in hun arbeidsprocessen en maken het mogelijk om hun orderafhandeling te optimaliseren.

Wegens groei, organisatorische veranderingen en inconsistent beheer is de Tableau Server binnen CEVA Bol uitgegroeid tot een onoverzichtelijke omgeving. Gedurende de oriëntatiefase en de onderzoeksfase is de scope veranderd en beperkt de opdracht zich nu tot de databronnen afkomstig van de netwerkschijf. Dit vanwege de grootte van de originele opdrachtschets waarna tijdens onderzoek en gesprekken is gebleken dat dit qua opdracht te breed en te veel was. Gedurende oktober werd het duidelijk dat deze netwerkschijf wordt uit gefaseerd begin 2025 en de overstap naar SharePoint wordt gemaakt vanuit veiligheidsoverwegingen. Vanwege de relevantie van deze overstap is de focus van dit onderzoek daarom verplaatst van de algehele Tableau omgeving naar voornamelijk de Excel -en tekstbestanden op deze netwerkschijf welke verbonden zijn met Tableau. Het is de zaak om te onderzoeken welke bestanden overgeplaatst moeten worden naar SharePoint. Gedurende dit proces is het belangrijk om de genomen stappen om de verbindingen met deze databronnen in kaart te brengen vast te leggen. Dit om een methode te kunnen ontwikkelen die kan worden gebruikt voor toekomstige situaties, wat toepasbaar moet zijn op de verschillende type databronnen die zich op de Tableau omgeving bevinden.

The project involves creating a system that can be used to manage, view current & historical information on smart scales built by RAVAS. The scales are capable of connectivity through Wi-Fi, using a specialized communication protocol. Within a Warehouse they are usually attached inside forklifts, pallet jacks, and other logistical equipment.

It consists of 2 main parts:

- Central Server & web interface
Automatically manages connections to all setup scales in the local Warehouse network. It collects & stores information about changes in weight measurements, various scale parameters such as voltage, signal strength, firmware version, etc.
Certain actions for controlling the scales like zeroing the scales, applying tare, performing a firmware update should be executable from the interface.
The server will also attempt to track the physical location of each scale in the warehouse using a WiFi signal information provided by the scales, and show a 2D map of all positions to the user.

- Positioning Model proof-of-concept
This constitutes the main research topic on how Wi-Fi information (mainly RSSI - signal strength) can be used to reasonably predict the location of wireless devices in real-time. The goal is to try and obtain location records without the need to perform any hardware changes on the scales themselves and also to minimize the software changes in these low-power embedded devices.

Services such as Vodafone One Fixed and Corporate Net over IP are regularly tested at VodafoneZiggo Test Center to ensure the quality and availability of these fixed telephony services of VodafoneZiggo. Two separate testing infrastructures are used for testing purposes, namely the PBX Approval Lab and the Operations Lab. Both labs are hosted at the VodafoneZiggo Test Center in Heerlen.

Currently the maintenance for these labs is done by B2B Delivery Voice Engineering and Core Engineering. There is no official support for these systems so there is no guaranteed fix when errors occur, or the system is not available due to technical issues. There are no processes or official documentation available for troubleshooting any issues regarding the certification & operations lab. Because of this, the systems reached End of Life status with no support & lifecycle management available jeopardizing the quality of testing of our fixed telephony services. When issues occur with the certification lab, we cannot assure that a B2B-Customer’s PBX setup works properly against the production network before the customer goes live with our service. When issues occur with the operations lab, we cannot test any new features or updates in the IMS (IP Multimedia and Signaling) & Core Network jeopardizing the on-going projects at VodafoneZiggo Test Center.

The goal of this project is to design & realize a shared testing environment for production (certification) and pre-production (VodafoneZiggo Test Center) within the security standards of VodafoneZiggo with an active lifecycle management of the environment. Because the labs are very similar in technology, both labs will be combined with a goal to simplify support and reduce maintenance that is needed for this infrastructure.

In the world of digital accessibility there is a lot to discover, and a lot yet to be discovered. During my graduation project I worked on a plugin that helps people with a visual disability feel the ambient of a website and understand the structure. Music is an incredibly powerful tool that can be used in a variety of ways. Music can make people feel tense (the two notes of the Jaws theme are enough to increase your heart rate), to calm down (nothing a little bit of piano music can't fix) or to know when something is wrong. Especially when you don't have a visual to guide you, hearing is even more important. But the only thing that can be offered right now is spoken word.

The plugin will play music that will be different on every page. When visiting a website with bright or warm colours the music will consist of warm instruments and a major key, whereas a minimalistic page will be the opposite. The music will sound different based on web elements used in the code of the website. This means the music will either last 3 seconds, or 15 seconds, depending on the number of pageparts and elements used on the page.

Accessibility is all around you, and more relevant than you would think. As professor Alex Jongman told me; we are only temporarily not disabled. There is only a small period of time where most of us don’t have to worry about our rapidly declining cognitive or visual abilities. Or our motor skills that might not be there yet, or have already started to reach it’s peak. And then you start to realise that it actually isn’t us and them, it’s we.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij Simac QuadCore heb ik mij verdiept in Operational Technology (OT)-netwerken en de beveiliging hiervan. Door de toenemende digitalisering en de koppeling van OT-netwerken met het internet nemen de risico’s op cyberdreigingen sterk toe. Binnen Europa wordt hierop ingespeeld met nieuwe wetgeving. Een belangrijke norm om aan deze wetgeving te voldoen en OT-netwerken veilig op te zetten of te verbeteren, is de IEC62443-standaard. Tijdens mijn stage heb ik deze norm onderzocht en toegepast op een klein OT-netwerk. Dit omvatte het analyseren van de huidige beveiligingsstatus, het implementeren van verbeteringen volgens de IEC62443-richtlijnen, en het testen van de effectiviteit hiervan. Currently, RoboHub develops and refines a robotic platform. My role centers on enhancing the robot's localization system, a critical component that allows the robot to determine its position and orientation within its environment. Accurate localization is essential for effective navigation, obstacle avoidance, and task completion—key elements for success in competitive scenarios.
As of now, the robot features a working localization system, but there is room for improvement. My graduation project addresses this challenge by thoroughly analyzing the existing system’s performance and identifying areas for enhancement. I focus on improving odometry—the robot's use of motion data to estimate its position—and integrating advanced tools such as ROS2 (Robot Operating System 2). By evaluating potential solutions and their pros and cons, the goal is to boost localization accuracy, ensuring the robot operates more reliably in set environments.

Vision Transformers have recently gained prominence in the field of computer vision due to their superior accuracy and performance in image recognition and processing tasks. However, their computational demands pose significant challenges for deployment in real-world environments.
To address this, the project investigates, evaluates, and compares various compression techniques such as quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation. The goal is to reduce the size and computational load of Vision Transformer models while maintaining acceptable levels of accuracy. By conducting comparative research and rigorous benchmarking, the project identifies optimal methods for compressing these models.
In addition to research and technical development, the project incorporates an automation framework to make the compression process more accessible and user-friendly for AIminify’s clients. Regular feedback loops with a mentor and the use of Scrum project management ensure that development remains aligned with project objectives and stakeholder needs.
The final result is a comprehensive research document, a set of benchmarks, and an automated process for Vision Transformer compression that can be utilized within AIminify's service offerings. This project addresses an essential challenge in AI development, paving the way for more efficient, scalable, and accessible AI models.

Ter verduidelijking, als een klant een document upload zal een AI het document analyseren en op basis van herkenning bepalen wat het documenttype is. Dit documenttype zal vervolgens automatisch ingevuld worden in de front-end. Dit zal de duur van het uploaden van documenten verminderen.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij AmeXio heb ik gewerkt aan het automatiseren van het test- en deploymentproces van myInsight, een applicatie die organisaties helpt om inzicht te krijgen in hun documentbeheersystemen(Documentum) en bijbehorende processen. Dit project richtte zich op het onderzoeken, ontwikkelen en implementeren van een CI/CD-pipeline die nieuwe versies van myInsight automatisch kan uitrollen en testen in verschillende omgevingen.

Door gebruik te maken van technologieën als Virtualisatie en Containerisatie is een schaalbare en efficiënte oplossing ontwikkeld die handmatige handelingen drastisch vermindert. Deze oplossing omvat het automatiseren van de opzet van testomgevingen voor diverse combinaties van besturingssystemen, Databases en specifieke Java-versies, evenals het integreren van geautomatiseerde tests in het deploymentproces.

De resultaten zorgen niet alleen voor het verminderen van handmatig werk, maar maken het ook eenvoudiger om consistente en betrouwbare releases te leveren aan klanten van AmeXio. Hierbij draagt de oplossing ook bij aan het verbeteren van de kwaliteit en snelheid van het gehele testproces. Met dit project is een belangrijke basis gelegd voor verdere optimalisatie van myInsight, waarbij efficiëntie en gebruiksvriendelijkheid centraal staan.

Furthermore, I explored and developed a proof of concept for a real-time feedback mechanism, allowing live feedback to be captured directly at an event, rather than retrospectively, thereby enhancing the platform’s interactive capabilities. Het platform is volledig ontworpen door softwareontwikkelaars, zonder input van designers. Dit heeft geresulteerd in een developer-gericht ontwerp, wat het gebruik zonder training ingewikkeld maakt.

Nu Corenio besloten heeft om hun software op de markt te brengen voor andere bedrijven, met name MKB’ers, ontstaat er een uitdaging. Het developer-centrische ontwerp maakt het lastig voor nieuwe gebruikers om snel aan de slag te gaan. De gebruikersinterface is niet intuïtief en de workflow vereist vaak complexe stappen om taken te voltooien.

Het doel van dit project is om de knelpunten in de gebruikerservaring en interface te identificeren en op te lossen. Het einddoel is een intuïtiever ontwerp en een gebruiksvriendelijkere ervaring, waarbij de complexiteit wordt verminderd.

Mijn project "Needle in a Haystack" heb ik uitgevoerd bij FourIQ, een softwarebedrijf waar ik sinds twee jaar werkzaam ben. Het bedrijf specialiseert zich in het inzichtelijk maken van data binnen gebouwen. Via verschillende databronnen, zoals energie- en klimaatsensoren, meters en andere systemen, wordt deze data op een waardevolle manier weergegeven via een geïntegreerd platform.

Het doel van mijn project was het verrijken van "ruwe" datapunten door middel van een ontologie en semantische annotatie. Na een uitgebreide analyse en literatuurstudie heb ik de theorie toegepast op de data-architectuur van FourIQ. Door het gebruik van een ontologie zijn krachtige methoden beschikbaar gekomen om data te organiseren en te beheren in een hiërarchische boomstructuur. Het projectresultaat is gepubliceerd als een generieke Ruby Gem voor de Rails-community en kan worden ingezet voor verschillende datamodellen. Daarnaast heb ik, geïnspireerd door DataOps-principes, verschillende ontwerp- en design-patterns benut om een flexibele oplossing te ontwikkelen.

Voorheen werden nieuwe locaties handmatig geconfigureerd, wat gemiddeld ongeveer 200 handelingen per locatie vereiste. Dankzij de implementatie van semantische tags kunnen nu honderden locaties uit verschillende bronnen automatisch worden geïmporteerd en geannoteerd binnen enkele seconden. Bovendien maakt de ontologie geavanceerde zoek- en groepeerstrategieën mogelijk. Zo kan er bijvoorbeeld gezocht worden op:

Van: "Alle temperatuursensoren op één specifieke locatie"
Naar: "Alle LoRa-temperatuursensoren die zich in slaapkamers bevinden in gebouwen kleiner dan 100 m²"
Na de succesvolle afronding van dit project zijn er nog veel mogelijkheden voor verdere toepassingen. Het bedrijf heeft besloten om hier structureel tijd en middelen voor vrij te maken. Dit was een bijzonder leerzaam en motiverend project, waarvan ik ook nog eens zelf de vruchten van kan plukken tijdens mijn werk!

In het magazijn van Dutch Beauty Group wordt er gebruik gemaakt van handscanners om bepaalde bedrijfsprocessen zoals de voorraad tellen, vracht inruimen, en orders klaarmaken om naar naar klanten te versturen (order picken) te faciliteren.

Tijdens het order pick proces kunnen magazijnmedewerkers producten op twee verschillende locaties vinden; een pick en een bulk locatie. Op een, of meerdere, bulk locatie(s) kan het grootste gedeelte van de voorraad van een product gevonden worden. Op een, of meerdere, pick locatie(s) kan een klein gedeelte van de product voorraad gevonden worden. Gedurende het order picken is het niet inzichtelijk wanneer de voorraad van een pick locatie op is met als gevolg dat het voor kan komen dat magazijnmedewerkers eerst naar een bulk locatie moeten lopen om hun order af te ronden. Als een tijdelijke oplossing wordt er gebruik gemaakt van magneten. Zodra de voorraad van een pick locatie op is wordt er door een medewerker een magneetje op die plek gehangen. Aan het einde van de dag vult een magazijnmedewerker alle locaties met een magneet bij.

Omdat er een analoge oplossing gebruikt wordt is het binnen de handscanner software niet inzichtelijk welke pick locaties bijgevuld moeten worden en is er ook geen proces dat het aanvullen van de pick locaties op een efficiënte manier laat verlopen.

Deze opdracht heeft als doel om, via de handscanner software, magazijnmedewerkers te informeren dat een lege pick locatie bijgevuld moet worden. Daarbij hoort ook een proces gerealiseerd te worden dat ervoor zorgt dat de pick locaties op de juiste manier bijgevuld worden.

Tijdens mijn stageperiode heb ik gewerkt als consultant bij TMC. In deze rol heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar het retourproces van KMWE. Het doel van dit onderzoek was om een Power BI-dashboard te ontwikkelen en te implementeren, waarmee KMWE hun retourproces beter kan beheren. Dit dashboard helpt KMWE niet alleen om het proces te optimaliseren, maar stelt KMWE ook in staat om dit proces in de toekomst verder te laten groeien en meerdere klanten in het retourproces te integreren.

Bij de ontwikkeling van het dashboard heb ik daarnaast rekening gehouden met het creëren van toegevoegde waarde voor TMC. Op deze manier heeft niet alleen KMWE baat bij het dashboard, maar kan TMC zelf het dashboard ook gebruiken voor vergelijkbare processen of inzichten binnen hun organisatie.

During my graduation internship at ICT Group, I worked on improving support for ICT Group’s CPD Toolkit. The CPD Toolkit is a Visual Studio Code extension created to aid a leading Dutch company in the semiconductor industry in developing calibration software. The extension provides software engineers and domain experts with a suite of tools to aid in realtime collaboration which helps decrease development time.

However there is one big issue when collaborating in realtime using the CPD Toolkit. When the users run into any problems while using the extension they can consult ICT Group’s wiki or support team. But both options have their downsides:
* The wiki can be difficult to navigate or not contain the answer, requiring the user to reach out to the support team.
* The support team may not be available or focussing on providing support to other users, causing a delay in development.

To address these issues, I was tasked with researching and implementing an addition to the existing Visual Studio Code extension using AI to allow the users of the extension to get instant support tailored to their context in the following ways:
* Instantly answer questions based on information from the wiki and previous interactions with the support team.
* Generate documentation based on the calibration software’s code to answer questions about the software.
* Extract errors from screenshots to help users determine the root cause of the error.
* Generate new code for calibration software applications, enabling individuals with limited coding skills to develop calibration software.

Supplydrive is a company that specialises in automation for companies in the metal industry. A typical process could include: translating and processing orders, sending confirmations and passing specifications on to machines that will produce the ordered items.
During this process a lot of problems can arise, from invalid data or configuration issues to unreachable servers from customers.
The goal of this project is to reduce the time spent on manual error handling by trying to catch any problems at the earliest point possible, automating the error handling process where possible and by providing employees with the relevant information when they need to handle an error.

The project has been separated into three main phases.
The first one is aimed at analysing the current protocol for processing the incoming data and determine some points where this protocol could be improved.
Then an implementation of a prototype solution for at least one of the improvement points will be created.
The final phase will be aimed at assessing the added value and viability of the prototype solution and giving advice for working on the other action points.

insign.it currently works with multiple systems (logic monitor, ConnectWise, Azure lighthouse) but these systems work independently of each other and managing data across each of them is done manually. Currently employees need to manually look up the customer resources they manage for customers in Azure, then check in ConnectWise what services they need to monitor for that customer and then activate/deactivate monitoring for the correct Azure services in Logic monitor. When customers activate deactivate new services in Azure these will also need to be updated manually.

The project will automate this process and visualize the Azure services customers have to make monitoring for employees easier. Data from Azure and ConnectWise will be connected in a middleware database where the Azure services will be linked to specific customers from ConnectWise. These will then be send to Logic monitor and automatically start monitoring if necessary. The data in the middleware database will also be used to create graphs using power BI where insign.it employees have a better oversight of their customers Azure services.

Due to the data all coming from separate services, The data doesn't map onto each other properly. for example, Logic monitor keeps track of Azure services grouped by their type and customer while ConnectWise keeps track of the services individually and one customer having multiple subscriptions.

The focus was on combining cutting-edge AI technology with an interface that prioritized simplicity and accessibility.

Through extensive research into user needs and technical possibilities, I developed a streamlined workflow that minimizes effort while maximizing impact. The result was a high-fidelity prototype and a functioning tool that delivers an effortless ad creation experience, making it easier than ever for small businesses to market their products effectively.

During my graduation internship at Internetwerk, I have investigated performance issues affecting websites served through the company’s proprietary CMS called Paradesk CMS. Key challenges included slower loading times caused by HTTP request queuing and sub-optimal dynamic cache serving strategy for web content, which currently does not consistently prioritize serving of fresh content to human users or other high priority crawlers (for example, Googlebot).

The goal of this project was to design and prototype a solution that positively impacts page load performance, while mitigating the negative impact caused by cache on the freshness of the requested web content that users and bots receive.

The designed solution consists of a dynamic caching strategy that generates cached page components early when the system’s state allows for it, without negatively impacting response times and adjusts the acceptable cache age that can be served, depending on system state. This improves the relevancy of the served web content, by having fresher versions in the cache, during times of lower traffic activity, and allows for serving of older cached content during high traffic if server resources become strained. Additionally, page loading times were optimized through static asset bundling techniques, minimizing delays and overcoming the HTTP protocol restrictions.

The design will emphasize integration with CleanLease’s existing systems, such as ABS and Mijnwas.nl, while providing user-friendly features for tasks like order tracking and personal laundry management. Validation will involve testing to ensure the portal meets client expectations, empowers users to manage many issues independently, and enhances their overall experience.

Built using Streamlit, LangGraph, and Azure OpenAI, this agentic tool empowers users to streamline legal workflows by providing quick and precise access to information.

The application allows users to upload legal documents for approval, explore available knowledge base and offers functionalities such as:

General Q&A: Quickly finding answers to queries based on knowledge base documents.
Including:
- Legal Article Interpretation: Providing insights about specific articles across conventions.
- Contextual Term Explanation: Explaining nuanced terms (e.g., "contracting party") within the Eurocontrol context.

Document Retrieval: Efficiently locating relevant files.

Additionally, an admin interface enables document approval and ingestion into the knowledge base to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

The project demonstrates how Gen AI technologies can enhance legal research, improve efficiency, and provide support for complex regulatory tasks. Through VeriLex, I gained valuable experience in developing and deploying complex Gen AI tools to solve real-world challenges in the legal domain.

The core objective is to enhance the navigation process for warehouse workers by integrating AR-based solutions into their daily workflows. Currently, navigation challenges such as misplaced items, inefficient routes, physical strain, and reliance on memory or traditional tools impede productivity and worker well-being. Through structured observations and interviews with warehouse staff, the project identifies key pain points and gains in the existing system.

The solution involves designing and implementing an AR application for the HoloLens 2, capable of scanning QR codes and visually guiding workers to their target items. This application will integrate with FAES’s StackAssist system, optimizing both navigation and stacking processes. By providing intuitive visual cues, the solution aims to minimize errors, reduce physical strain, and improve overall efficiency.

Ultimately, this project demonstrates how AR can support a smart industry environment, enhancing operational workflows while prioritizing human factors. The outcomes will contribute to the broader adoption of AR technologies in warehouses, offering a model for sustainable, worker-friendly innovations in line with the goals of Industry 5.0.

By adding an SVG editor, users will be able to fully edit and customize SVGs. They can reshape them, change colors, adjust sizes, and even create complex shapes like stars or hexagons. This will make Template Designer more powerful and flexible, giving users the tools they need to create unique, eye-catching designs.

This upgrade makes the tool easier to use and more versatile, helping users bring their creative ideas to life while making their templates stand out in digital campaigns.

Hardware Interfacing Rusty EtherCAT Simulator

During my internship at Sioux Technologies, I developed a simulator that emulates EtherCAT slaves and is written in the Rust programming language. The simulator emulates a configurable number of slave devices of different types, as well as sensors/actuators connected to those devices. The devices emulated on the simulator can be monitored and manipulated with the help of a test-API, which makes the simulator a useful tool for debugging the error handling of the control software application built on top of an EtherCAT master.

The project included various challenges, such as concurrency, real-time computing and for me unknown technologies. When I started the internship, I had no prior experience with Rust and EtherCAT, so this was a great opportunity to get familiar with them.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij TrueLime richtte ik me op het verkorten van de ontwikkelingstijd voor projecten binnen het Umbraco CMS, een platform dat veel wordt gebruikt voor webontwikkeling. Het proces van webontwikkeling in Umbraco is tijdrovend, door de vele handmatige handelingen die nodig zijn voor het opzetten van componenten, het beheren van content en het configureren van systemen.

Om dit probleem aan te pakken, werden verschillende oplossingsrichtingen verkend, waaronder de inzet van geavanceerde technologieën zoals Semantic Kernel en Azure OpenAI. Deze technologieën kunnen helpen door repetitieve taken te automatiseren en de algehele workflow te versnellen.

Door deze technologische benadering kunnen ontwikkelaars sneller werken met minder handmatige handelingen. Het toepassen van AI-technologieën, zoals Semantic Kernel, maakt het mogelijk om het opzetten van websites te versnellen. Door integratie met AI kunnen bijvoorbeeld document- en content types worden gecreëerd. Deze technologische oplossing versnelt niet alleen het ontwikkelproces, maar maakt het ook mogelijk om in de toekomst gepersonaliseerde content te laten genereren.

The goal of the Samen aan Z project was to create a platform that would let research groups collaborate and manage their projects more effectively. In order to meet the needs of the platform's main users—research group members, such as administrators and project managers—I was tasked with redesign and improving its features.
By adding new features that were suitable to user needs, the primary objective was to increase platform satisfaction and usability. This involved looking at the current platform, figuring out what frustrates users, and creating solutions to deal with these issues. Improving the back-office experience, optimizing processes, and developing an intuitive user interface were major priorities.
I used user-centered design concepts and the design thinking approach to achieve this. Stakeholder interviews and observations were used to gather insights, with a focus on user expectations and pain challenges.
The findings informed the creation of personas, empathy maps, and affinity maps, helping to define the target audience clearly.
By prioritizing stakeholder feedback and aligning platform functionality with user needs, the final outcome aimed to deliver a user-friendly, dynamic tool that fosters seamless research collaboration.
This project gave me invaluable practical experience in UX/UI design, enabling me to use useful techniques to create major platform enhancements.

A significant chunk of the project work will be the preparation of the Proof of Concept using low-code platforms like PowerApps. The PoC shall automate data validation, normalize reporting templates, and put up a single dashboard to monitor data status in near real time. These will enhance data accessibility, accuracy, and speed of processing, thus contributing to better decision-making across different departments.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij Stactics heb ik gewerkt aan de ontwikkeling van een mobiele app voor het Meetnet-project. Het doel van de app is om luchtkwaliteitsdata toegankelijker en begrijpelijker te maken voor burgers. Het Meetnet-systeem verzamelt realtime omgevingsdata, maar de huidige presentatie daarvan is vaak lastig te interpreteren voor het algemene publiek. De app overbrugt deze kloof door luchtkwaliteitsinformatie op een intuïtieve en gebruiksvriendelijke manier te visualiseren, zodat burgers lokale luchtkwaliteit kunnen monitoren en betrokken raken bij milieukwesties.

Voor de ontwikkeling is gebruik gemaakt van Flutter en een API-koppeling, wat zorgt voor realtime datavisualisatie in een schaalbare, cross-platform app. Het project combineert technische kennis met een focus op gebruiksvriendelijk ontwerp. Dit heeft geleid tot een praktische oplossing die burgers helpt om bewuster en actiever om te gaan met luchtkwaliteitskwesties.

This platform serves various stakeholders, including portfolio operators, building owners, and facility managers, providing dashboards, user management, building organization tools, and insightful data visualizations.

My responsibilities included designing the mock-ups and creating a clickable demo, designing the platform's architecture, developing a frontend using Angular for an intuitive user experience, and implementing backend microservices with secure RESTful APIs. The backend manages user authentication, building data, energy modules, and KPI reporting. Communication between microservices was handled through a service bus, ensuring scalability and reliability. Additionally, I integrated external APIs, such as the GenAI module for user interactions and the KPI Generator for energy performance insights. Throughout the project, I focused on maintaining high code quality through unit testing, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the platform's security in an Azure DevOps environment.

For my graduation presentation, I will explain my process of creating the platform and showcase the platform’s capabilities. I will also highlight the technical and personal challenges that I have overcome.

This project allowed me to apply my technical knowledge while enhancing my skills in software development, agile methodologies, and stakeholder collaboration.

As part of Vanderlande's Data and Analytics department, I developed a Large Language Model (LLM) that uses UML class diagrams as its knowledge base.
The goal was to enable data analysts to navigate Vanderlande's Data Model, search specific definitions and help them understand complex UML relationships. The chatbot is built on a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture, using the LLAMA model for natural language understanding.
Vanderlande’s Data and Analytics department manages diverse data sources, including financial records, supplier information, and shipping details, serving sectors such as Finance and HR with customized dashboards and reports. The department consists of specialized teams such as Data Governance, Data Modelling, and Data Analytics, which collaboratively deliver data-driven solutions.
The Data Modelling team plays a critical role in this process by creating UML Data Models that illustrate relationships between tables in response to data product requests. Data analysts then use these models to prepare datasets, perform calculations, and generate meaningful insights for stakeholders. The chatbot fits perfectly into this workflow by helping analysts interpret the UML diagrams more easily, saving time, and simplifying the process of preparing data.

Vanderlande, een wereldleider in logistieke procesautomatisering, ondersteunt cruciale logistieke processen met
innovatieve oplossingen zoals het beheer van fysieke assets van hun klanten via IBM Maximo, een Enterprise
Asset Management (EAM)-systeem.

Het huidige proces voor het opzetten van Maximo-data is inefficiënt en handmatig, wat leidt tot inconsistenties
en vertragingen. Mijn project richt zich op het stroomlijnen van deze processen. Het doel is een proces te
ontwikkelen waarmee implementatiespecialisten en consultants masterdata voor Maximo kunnen verzamelen,
converteren, verifiëren, optimaliseren en standaardiseren. Dit verhoogt de datakwaliteit, past
onderhoudsstandaarden toe en vermindert de implementatietijd met 30-40%.

Ik ontwikkel een applicatie in Microsoft PowerApps om het proces te automatiseren en standaardiseren. De
tool verbetert niet alleen de datakwaliteit, maar maakt het proces ook gebruiksvriendelijker en efficiënter. Door
middel van een agile werkwijze pas ik de tool voortdurend aan op basis van gebruikersfeedback.

Dit project heeft als einddoel een snellere en betrouwbaardere implementatie van onderhoudsconcepten, mijn deel stopt bij het uitwerken van proof of concepts en Vanderlande adviseren over hoe hun de verdere ontwikkeling, implementatie en support kunnen doen op de tool. Dit leidt samen tot lagere operationele kosten, hogere klanttevredenheid en meer consistentie in de uitvoering van
logistieke processen wereldwijd.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage heb ik concepten bedacht en gerealiseerd van een wildlife manager applicatie(WildRadar) voor Wildlife NL. Wildlife NL is een onderzoeksteam dat een achtjarige onderzoeksperiode met verschillende werkpakketten heeft. Hierbij is er een kernteam opgesteld en zitten consortiumleden in het onderzoek, die via onderzoeken gevraagd hebben naar een systeem dat hun wensen kan vervullen.

Deze tool is ontworpen voor mensen die terreinbeheerder, faunabeheerder, kudde beheerders en agrariërs als beroep hebben om binnen één oogopslag te kunnen managen van hun type beheer. Het gaat hierbij om vanuit data die in de API zit, visueel te laten zien middels een kaart, waarbij dieren en interessante gebieden worden getoond en ook kunnen worden aangepast. Dit is zo ontworpen om de interactie tussen mens en dier te verbeteren door primitief actie te kunnen ondernemen middels dit systeem.

Het systeem is zo opgesteld en gemaakt dat de overdracht optimaal is voor de stakeholders en volgende groepen studenten, doordat dit onderzoekspakket in de komende semesters verder zal worden uitgebreid.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij Squadra Machine Learning Company heb ik een design systeem ontworpen en uitgewerkt voor de PowerSuite: een dashboard met meerdere applicaties. Het doel van dit design systeem is om consistente, gebruiksvriendelijke en schaalbare richtlijnen te creëren, zodat de verschillende applicaties visueel op elkaar aansluiten. Dit leidt tot een verbeterde gebruikerservaring, meer efficiëntie en minder frustraties bij gebruikers.

Om dit te bereiken, ben ik gestart met een uitgebreide analyse van de huidige PowerSuite. Ik onderzocht de meest voorkomende en belangrijke elementen, de navigatiestructuur en opvallende verschillen in ontwerp tussen de applicaties. Deze inzichten vormden de basis voor mijn design systeem concept.

Apothekers hebben voor een lange tijd de opiumwet administratie op papier in een map bijgehouden. Dit komt doordat de opiumwet administratie in het huidige apotheek informatie systeem niet voldoende is voor de apothekers om dit werk goed te verrichten. Het is natuurlijk niet handig dat in dit tijdperk apothekers nog fysieke kopieën hebben van belangrijke documenten. Hier komt mijn project met de oplossing. Door feedback van de apothekers te vragen en samen te werken is er een opiumwet administratie systeem gebouwd. Dit zal er voor zorgen dat er geen fysieke kopieën meer zullen zijn van de administratie en boekhouding en het vertrouwen weer terugkomt.

During my graduation internship at EclecticIQ, I focused on enhancing cloud security through the development and optimization of Sigma rules tailored for Microsoft Azure environments. These Sigma rules aim to detect advanced threats such as token theft, API exploitation, and privilege escalation, addressing the unique challenges posed by Azure's dynamic and complex architecture.

The project combines an iterative development process and practical experimentation to refine detection logic, reduce false positives, and improve operational efficiency. Using tools like EvilGinx and Azure CLI, I simulated real-world attack scenarios, including phishing campaigns and unauthorized API access, to validate and enhance the effectiveness of the developed Sigma rules. This work aligns with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, ensuring robust detection of adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).

A key feature of this project is its broad applicability: while tailored for Azure, the developed methodologies and rules can be adapted to other cloud platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform. The outcomes provide actionable insights into improving threat detection for cloud environments, benefiting both EclecticIQ and the wider cybersecurity community.

For a deeper dive, the tailored Sigma rules and testing documentation will be shared during the graduation session.

De online aanwezigheid van uitgever VMN media bestaat uit tientallen websites van vakbladen, maar ook uit het leadsplatform Bouwberichten. Op deze websites worden analytische gebruikersgegeven bijgehouden, waarmee gebruikerspatronen geanalyseerd worden. Daarmee worden gerichte marketingcampagnes gevoerd en wordt misbruik van onrechtmatig gedeelde accounts een halt toegeroepen.

De websites van de vakbladen worden aangestuurd door een door Wolfpack ontwikkeld CMS. Alle geregistreerde gebruikersacties komen terecht in een centrale datawarehouse. Het Bouwberichten-platform is daarentegen door een andere partij ontwikkeld en deze gebruikersacties komen in een relatief ongestructureerd formaat in Google BigQuery terecht. Het is daardoor mogelijk om analyses uit te voeren op gebruikersacties van vakbladen en van Bouwberichten, maar niet van gebruikers tussen beide platformen. Deze twee databronnen zijn namelijk van elkaar gescheiden.

Met het idee in het achterhoofd dat een datawarehouse de single source of truth moet zijn, is het doel van mijn stage om de gegevens van de Bouwberichten-BigQuery over te zetten naar de Wolfpack-datawarehouse. Voorafgaand dient de exacte structuur van beide databases onderzocht te worden, waarna een onderbouwd ontwerp de basis vormt voor een uiteindelijke implementatie in Azure Data Factory. Met deze automatische datamigratie wordt het mogelijk om verregaandere inzichten te vergaren door het maken van kruisverbanden tussen platforms, wat VMN media in staat stelt gerichtere data-driven marketingcampagnes op touw te zetten.

During my graduation internship at Fontys Allied Health Professions, MSc. Ing. Fred Holtkamp and Geert-Jos van der Maazen assigned me to design and develop a computer game that would be played with an aerospace-styled joystick. The purpose of this game and joystick is to help CVA Patients in their rehabilitation of the lower part of the upper extremities, from the lower arm to the fingers. Fred Holtkamp and Geert-Jos van der Maazen also added that while the patient is playing the game there should be a way for the medical personnel to see the progress that the patient is having. For this reason, the game will record the player’s input to monitor the progress. From where the balloons were placed and destroyed to how good of an aim the player was.
The app that is going to be used for live monitoring is not part of this project and will be a graduation project for somebody else in the future.
This project is a small part of project HANDFORCE, which is still in its iterative phase.
HANDFORCE itself is a spin-off from SmartScan.

The Opentrons Flex is a pipetting robot designed for precise liquid handling in scientific research. This advanced robotic system can move liquids between different containers and help in performing experiments, making it a crucial tool for chemists and researchers.

This project aims to develop an innovative API that will integrate the Opentrons Flex into a self-driven lab developed by the Robotlab Big Chemistry within the High Tech Embedded Systems research group of Fontys. A self-driven lab represents the cutting edge of scientific research - an autonomous system capable of designing, executing, and analyzing experiments with minimal human intervention. In this vision, laboratory robots can independently determine experimental protocols, adapt to real-time results, and make intelligent decisions about next steps in scientific investigation.

The primary objective is to create a communication interface that allows the Opentrons Flex to operate autonomously within this advanced laboratory setup. By removing manual intervention, researchers can focus on higher-level scientific analysis and innovation.

A secondary goal is to provide other chemists with a flexible automation tool for the Opentrons Flex. This API will enable research teams and chemists to perform experiments for longer without having to control the machine manually.

The objective of this project was to explore the potential of replacing the current control system with an HPC platform. To achieve this, I investigated various technologies commonly utilized in HPC to identify the available options and their limitations.

For my proof of concept, I used two Raspberry Pi units to serve as the cluster. In order to function as a cohesive platform, I conducted research on scheduling and frameworks, which I then applied to the setup. Afterwards, I expanded my configuration with additional components similar to those found in an actual truck to test the platform and identify crucial information for the company.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage heb ik gewerkt aan de ontwikkeling van een intelligente robotische hand voor assistieve toepassingen, met behulp van een NVIDIA Jetson TX2. Dit project combineert machine learning, camera-gebaseerde objectherkenning en druksensoren om de hand in staat te stellen veilig en efficiënt objecten vast te pakken.

De robotische hand herkent objecten zoals blikjes en flessen met een ingebouwde camera en bepaalt het benodigde drukniveau. Drukgevoelige sensoren meten real-time de kracht die wordt toegepast, waardoor schade aan objecten of het mechanisme zelf wordt voorkomen. Bovendien stopt de hand automatisch bij detectie van afwijkingen, zoals vervormingen van objecten, voor een veilige en betrouwbare werking.

Met dit project wil ik laten zien hoe geavanceerde technologieën kunnen bijdragen aan innovatieve oplossingen binnen de prothesetechnologie en robotica.

We weten allemaal dat technologie razendsnel verandert, en bijblijven kan een uitdaging zijn—zeker als het gaat om het migreren van honderdduizenden regels code. Maar upgraden van Vue 2 naar Vue 3 is niet alleen een must om bij te blijven, het biedt ook de kans om je projecten moderner, flexibeler en toekomstbestendig te maken.

Tijdens mijn afstudeeronderzoek bij Atabix heb ik me gericht op deze migratie: van Vue 2 naar Vue 3. Het doel? Een praktische gids ontwikkelen waarmee jullie stap voor stap door de overgang kunnen navigeren. Vue 3 brengt fantastische nieuwe mogelijkheden zoals de Composition API, verbeterde prestaties, en een efficiëntere reactiviteit. Deze tools maken het bouwen van snellere, schonere en beter onderhoudbare projecten een stuk eenvoudiger.

Ik begrijp dat het idee van een migratie overweldigend kan zijn—al die regels code die moeten worden aangepast. Maar het hoeft niet in één keer. De gids die ik heb ontwikkeld voor Atabix helpt jullie om de migratie op te splitsen in behapbare stappen, zodat je geleidelijk kunt overgaan naar Vue 3 en ondertussen kunt blijven leren en groeien als ontwikkelaar.

Tijdens mijn afstudeeropdracht bij het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) heb ik gewerkt aan het verbeteren van de gebruiksvriendelijkheid en interface van de ODiN-applicatie (Onderweg in Nederland applicatie) voor dataverzameling. Een belangrijk onderzoek voor informatiebehoefte en beleidsvorming. De focus lag op het optimaliseren van de gebruikerservaring door het proces te automatiseren en de motivatie van gebruikers te verhogen met elementen zoals gamification en personalisatie.

Gedurende het project heb ik wireframes en een interactief prototype ontwikkeld in Figma, gebaseerd op inzichten uit literatuuronderzoek en veldwerk. Deze ontwerpen zijn getest en aangescherpt om de toepasbaarheid in een praktijkomgeving te waarborgen. Mijn rol omvatte niet alleen het ontwerpen en testen van de oplossing, maar ook het vertalen van complexe gebruikersbehoeften naar praktische en schaalbare verbeteringen.

Aan het einde van de opdracht zijn concrete aanbevelingen geformuleerd, niet alleen gericht op implementatie, maar ook om kritisch te reflecteren op de rol van de applicatie als innovatief hulpmiddel in dataverzameling.

By connecting home batteries and solar panels, Spark controls the distribution of energy, deciding whether it is used to lower energy costs or if the excess is sold to the electricity network operator. My role focused on designing the interaction between the system and its users, ensuring it was both straightforward and engaging. In order to increase user involvement and offer a more meaningful experience, I also looked into gamification and other functionalities.

Besides the user interface, I focused on implementing functionality such as energy consumption tracking, adjustable energy modes, and notifications to keep consumers informed and in control. This project integrated user research, user testing and design to create a platform that encourages sustainability and lowers energy costs for users.

Mijn focus lag op het analyseren van de mogelijkheden van Kotlin Multiplatform voor het delen van businesslogica tussen verschillende platforms, terwijl de platform-specifieke gebruikersinterfaces behouden blijven.

Het doel van mijn project was om te onderzoeken of Kotlin Multiplatform een geschikte oplossing biedt voor Apperium’s ontwikkelproces en om de voordelen en uitdagingen van deze technologie in de praktijk te ervaren en weer te geven. Hierbij heb ik gewerkt aan het migreren van een bepaalde functionaliteiten uit een bestaande app van Apperium naar Kotlin Multiplatform, wat me in staat stelde om praktische ervaring op te doen en inzicht te krijgen in de effectiviteit van het framework.

Door dit onderzoek heb ik waardevolle informatie verzameld over de toepasbaarheid van Kotlin Multiplatform, met als resultaat een conclusie over de geschiktheid voor toekomstige projecten binnen Apperium.

Om dit op te lossen heb ik een betere data storytelling en AI-functionaliteiten geimplementeerd in hun dashboards. Data storytelling betekent het vertellen van een lopend verhaal in een dashboard. Het trekt direct de aandacht van de gebruiker aan met pakkende titels, maakt gebruik van een heldere UI/UX design en zorgt dat de grafieken altijd aansluiten bij het verhaal. Data storytelling moet er uiteindelijk voor zorgen dat alle gebruikers van een dashboard, dezelfde inzichten eruit halen.

Met AI-gegenereerde verklaringen kunnen BDO-medewerkers tijdens klantafspraken snel de belangrijkste inzichten presenteren en uitleg geven over de oorzaken van bepaalde dataveranderingen. Deze verklaringen worden volledig gegenereerd binnen het Microsoft Power Platform en weergegeven in een Power App, waar ze indien nodig nog kunnen worden bewerkt.

Focusing on automation, I designed an invoicing system that adheres to legal and compliance standards across different countries, reducing manual effort and enhancing accuracy. This integrated approach significantly improved Fesma’s operational workflows, laying a foundation for future scalability and positioning the company to better meet client needs.

My internship graduation project focuses on improving ad relevance for Shopforward, a company specializing in managing Google Ads for external businesses. When users search for products on Google, they often see recommended products at the top of the results. These placements are powered by Google Ads, and for products to perform well, they need detailed and accurate product data in their ad feeds.

Ad feeds contain essential product attributes like color, gender, and type. These attributes help Google determine how relevant a product is to a user’s search query. Relevance, along with expected clickthrough rate (CTR) and landing page experience, directly influences the feed score, which determines how prominently ads are displayed.

The challenge is that many products submitted to Shopforward by external companies have missing or incomplete attributes. For example, a pink T-shirt may not have its color or product type filled in the feed, even though this information is available in the product’s description or image. Missing attributes lower a product’s ad relevance, reducing its chances of being displayed in recommendations.

To solve this, I am developing an AI-powered application that extracts missing product attributes from descriptions and images. By combining natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision, my solution automatically identifies key details like color, gender, and product type, enriching the ad feed with complete and accurate data.

While my project focuses solely on improving ad relevance, it plays a critical role in boosting overall ad performance. With more relevant product data, Shopforward’s clients can achieve higher rankings in Google’s recommendations, resulting in better visibility and increased sales. This project is an exciting application of AI to solve real-world business challenges in the digital advertising space.

By incorporating the principles of NIS2, which emphasizes governance, reporting, and security processes, the checklist ensures organizations meet baseline security requirements and avoid potential penalties or reputational damage. The CMM approach further supports continuous improvement by providing clear, actionable steps for advancing security maturity across key domains, such as identity and access management, cloud security, and incident response.
The checklist allows organizations to assess their current security maturity level, identify gaps in their processes, people, and technology, and receive tailored recommendations for improvement. This structured approach ensures that security measures are not only technically sound but also address critical human and procedural factors that are often overlooked in technical assessments. The framework focuses on ensuring the right balance between compliance and practical security improvements, with a particular emphasis on proactive management of security risks.
Through the use of the security maturity model, the framework enables SuitIT to deliver clear and actionable reports, making it easier for non-technical stakeholders to understand and act upon. My Project focuses on two core improvements of Prism. The first addresses the need for quicker updates, aligning rapid development with dependable, uninterrupted service. This demands an adaptable process that allows for the swift integration of new features while having the safety net to revert swiftly if necessary.

The second improvement is driven by the stringent standards imposed on Swiss telecom services, necessitating high availability throughout the year. As Prism is instrumental in monitoring and reporting on these standards, boosting its reliability is essential.

The aim is to refine Prism’s testing and deployment practices. This includes incorporating comprehensive automated tests prior to feature releases and introducing a system for gradual deployment to users, which would enable the assessment of new features in a controlled manner without impacting all customers at once.

As a project leader within Team Hikari, the plan is to deliver a deployment and testing framework that maintains a high bar for reliability, ensuring Swisscom can continue to enhance its applications while meeting its reliability objectives. Ultimately, the success of Project Prism will not only elevate the performance of Swisscom's services but also streamline their delivery process.

The goal of the project was to address the challenges caused by the lack of automation in publishing and update delivery processes, which were slow and error-prone.
My work involved creating new pipelines and improving existing ones for the NAUTIS software sub-components. I also made the main NAUTIS publishing pipeline more modular and efficient.
A key part of the project was extending Watchdog, the update management system, to automate downloading and distribution of updates to other PCs.
Additionally, I designed a concept for a future Watchdog extension that would allow customers to update specific files such as configuration settings and textures, on their own, without requiring the assistance of an operations engineer.

Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij Performation heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar hoe front-end testen ingezet kan worden om de correcte werking van de verschillende front-end applicaties geautomatiseerd te kunnen garanderen en om tijd te besparen op het gebied van handmatig testen. Ten eerste heb ik onderzocht welke vormen van front-end testen het meest geschikt zijn op basis van de behoeften van Performation en haar ontwikkelaars. Daarna heb ik een aantal testtechnologieën met elkaar vergeleken en de meest geschikte hiervan geïmplementeerd in een van de applicaties, hierbij lag de focus op end-to-end testing maar ik heb gekeken naar performance testen en component testen. Verder heb ik een CI-pipeline opgezet zodat de tests automatisch worden uitgevoerd in de Git-omgeving. Daarnaast heb ik de ontwikkelaars meegenomen in het gebruik van front-end testen en de voordelen die het met zich meebrengt. Hiervoor heb ik onder andere een kennisdelingssessie gegeven en een uitgebreide handleiding geschreven, met als doel dat de ontwikkelaars in de toekomst zelfstandig gebruik kunnen maken van het opgeleverde testsysteem en deze uit kunnen breiden naar de andere applicaties die ze ontwikkelen.

The goal of this assignment was to investigate and implement solutions to reduce the workload generated by service tickets at TapRaise. The company aimed to decrease the time spent on service tickets from 15% to 10%, improving efficiency and freeing up developer time for other priorities.

TapRaise develops software for charities, providing functionalities that streamline fundraising operations. These features often require configuration adjustments or other technical changes, which lead to service tickets that developers have to address. This creates a demand on developer time, especially during peak periods.

To address this, my assignment focused on improving workflows and automating processes to handle service tickets more effectively. This involved identifying recurring issues, analysing existing workflows, and determining technical solutions to either resolve, bypass, or simplify common requests. Bij de Provincie Limburg worden een aantal legacy-applicaties nog steeds gebruikt in een verouderde IT-infrastructuur, waaronder Windows 7 binnen een Citrix-gebaseerde Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Dit leidt tot inefficiënt gebruik van resources en vermindert het de gebruikerservaring omdat ze voor sommige applicaties een extra VDI moeten gebruiken naast hun primaire. Tegelijkertijd staat de provincie voor een migratie naar cloudoplossingen en een modernisering van de werkplekken, waarbij verouderde technologieën het liefst zo veel mogelijk worden uitgefaseerd.

Het doel van dit project is om een nieuwe manier te vinden om legacy-applicaties veilig, efficiënt en toekomstbestendig aan te bieden. In plaats van volledige desktops te virtualiseren, richt het project zich op applicatievirtualisatie, waarbij alleen de applicatie aan gebruikers wordt gepresenteerd en ze deze in één omgeving kunnen gebruiken. Ook wordt tijdens dit project rekening gehouden met de toekomstvisie van de nieuwe werkplek waarbij alle applicaties beschikbaar zullen zijn op elk apparaat , zonder VDI's.

De ingevoerde gegevens zijn in Meggsius Connect terug te zien in bijvoorbeeld grafieken zoals in de afbeelding. Met de digitale hokkaart in Meggsius Connect krijgt de klant een overzicht van de gegevens in de pluimveestal, waardoor ze de bedrijfsvoering kunnen bijsturen wanneer dat nodig is en zo het maximale resultaat uit het genetisch potentieel van de kip halen.

Netcongestie is de laatste tijd een veelbesproken onderwerp. Dit probleem ontstaat doordat de vraag naar elektriciteit in sommige regio’s groter is dan wat het stroomnet aankan. Ook ARP Nederland heeft hiermee te maken. Op bepaalde momenten van de dag is hun piekbelasting hoger dan wat contractueel is afgesproken. Omdat dit een regionaal probleem is, heeft de netbeheerder benadrukt dat het overmatige stroomverbruik onder controle moet worden gebracht. Als dit niet gebeurt, zullen er mogelijk consequenties volgen. Tijdens mijn afstudeerscriptie heb ik onderzocht hoe ARP beter inzicht kan krijgen in hun elektriciteitsverbruik en welke opties er zijn om meer controle over dit verbruik te verkrijgen. Het resultaat van mijn onderzoek is een energiemanagementdashboard dat verschillende databronnen samenbrengt om een helder beeld van het verbruik te geven. Daarnaast heb ik een adviesrapport opgesteld waarin ik maatregelen en technieken beschrijf die ARP zowel op korte als lange termijn kunnen helpen hun verbruik onder controle te houden.

The system features speech-to-text transcription, requirement extraction, domain model generation, and an intelligent keyword management system that helps maintain consistency across requirements. Additionally, a WPF-based user interface was developed to provide an intuitive workflow for recording conversations, managing requirements, and reviewing domain-specific terminology. The application integrates with modern LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) and implements the ReqIF standard for requirement interchange, making it compatible with existing requirement management tools.

Simac is een IT-dienstverlener. Het bedrijf levert technologie ter verbetering van bedrijfsprocessen aan middelgrote en grote organisaties en verzorgt het onderhoud van deze technologie.
Binnen Simac is het Security Operations Center (SOC) opgericht voor het leveren van beveiligingsdiensten aan klanten. Een belangrijke verantwoordelijkheid van het SOC is het beoordelen en beheren van risico's en kwetsbaarheden binnen klantomgevingen. Momenteel maakt het SOC gebruik van specifieke tools voor dit doel. Echter is er een groeiende ontevredenheid over de effectiviteit van deze tools. Het Simac SOC is daarom op zoek naar een efficiëntere en betrouwbaardere oplossing voor het beoordelen en beheren van risico's en kwetsbaarheden.

Het doel van dit project is om de huidige vulnerability management oplossing van het SOC in kaart te brengen. Op basis van deze evaluatie wordt gekeken naar de eventuele tekortkomingen van de huidige oplossing, dit kunnen tekortkomingen zijn vanuit de tool, processen of het team. Voor deze tekortkomingen wil Simac adviezen. Simac wil met deze adviezen een efficiëntere en meer gestroomlijnde vulnerability management oplossing krijgen om zo klanten beter te beveiligen tegen mogelijke kwetsbaarheden en risico’s binnen hun infrastructuur.

The content focuses on improving the processes of the external threat assessment using such kind of publicly available data and advanced OSINT tools. The Vodafone Oman current external threat assessment capabilities are assessed, gaps and how it could be improved are identified. In this research, actional intelligence has been gathered using data sources such as MXToolbox, Shodan, CrowdStrike, OpenPageRank, etc. The project also contains machine learning experiments to discover data patterns and estimate the vulnerability like leaked credentials and DNS zone transfer risks.

The deliverables are a scoring system on domains, emails, and IPs rated on an SEO, security reputation and blacklist status. Furthermore, the project also presents insights on how open data can be most useful for carrying out threat assessments. This leads to a coherent framework for threat identification which also mitigates data unreliability and fills the gap between actual and desired security outcomes.

Beyond adding value to Vodafone Oman in improving the threat detection process, this project contributes to other organizations interested in building their cybersecurity resilience using this model as a replicable model.

This task involved enhancements in their logging capabilities, thorough evaluation of monitoring platforms, implementation of a log management dashboard, automation of testing and deployment processes. In addition, I took part in assignments outside of my initial scope - I designed and implemented a dashboard that displays crucial information about their test handling process that updates in real-time and also realised a solution that generates custom PDF reports, based on customer-filled questionnaires. To summarize, my work during the internship simplified various internal processes, provided better control over Homed-IQ's software development and improved customer experience.

This project focuses on enhancing Zuyderland GGZ’s ability to monitor and analyze client satisfaction through the Consumer Quality Index (CQI). While the CQI survey provides valuable insights into client experiences, Zuyderland GGZ currently lacks a streamlined method to access and review these results in real time. The existing process relies on manual data retrieval via the IT department.

Additionally, Zuyderland GGZ uses multiple tools, such as Power-BI, Tableau, and Excel, to monitor care quality and performance. However, this setup makes it challenging for stakeholders to efficiently access and analyze data across platforms.

To address these challenges, I will develope a centralized dashboard in Power-BI. This dashboard will unify various themes, including client satisfaction, under the framework of a 9-Grid Model. The "Customer" theme within this model will focus on integrating CQI data, offering real-time insights and user-friendly visualizations to support continuous improvement in client-centered care.

This project aims to give care professionals one clear and reliable place to access information about the survey. By combining different tools into a single system, it will be easier to monitor client satisfaction, make faster decisions, and improve services. Zuyderland GGZ strives to enhance mental healthcare while meeting both organizational and national quality standards.

The proof-of-concept features an AI curator agent that autonomously aggregates, analyses, and refines content from information streams. Currently, these reports are completed using Dynamics 365 CRM, primarily via a web-based interface. However, this process is time-consuming and manual, making it inefficient for sales representatives, particularly those working remotely. The platform's lack of mobile optimization and reliance on repetitive data entry often leads to errors, delays, and reduced productivity, ultimately affecting client engagement and overall performance.

To address these challenges, the project aims to develop a mobile application powered by Microsoft tools, including Power Platform, Azure cognitive service, and Copilot agent. This app will streamline and automate the call reporting process, making it more efficient and accessible for on-the-go sales representatives. Key features of the app include real-time transcription to automate note-taking, voice-to-text functionality for quick and accurate reporting, and the smart follow-up action suggestions. Additionally, the app will integrate seamlessly with Dynamics 365, ensuring consistency with existing workflows and systems.

Dit wordt toegepast in de ontwikkeling van een rapportage-applicatie voor Jump, een ISO-gecertificeerd softwarebedrijf. Het doel is om handmatige, foutgevoelige processen te automatiseren en deze te koppelen aan betrouwbare databronnen zoals Orbit en Google Analytics doormiddel van een Api.

De applicatie biedt gebruikers zoals managers en medewerkers mogelijkheden om KPI's te beheren en beveiligde toegang tot data te waarborgen via rollen en rechtenbeheer. Daarnaast bevat de applicatie innovatieve functionaliteiten zoals integratie van API’s en visuele weergaven van KPI’s.

Tijdens het project is veel aandacht besteed aan beveiliging, het project heeft als doel niet alleen een functionele applicatie op te leveren, maar ook inzicht te bieden in hoe SecDevOps de veiligheid en efficiëntie binnen Mendix applicatieontwikkeling kan verhogen.

During my graduation internship at ASML, I devised a PoC standalone tool to address the complexity of visualizing object lifetimes and dependencies in Autofac, a Dependency Injection (DI) library extensively used within ASML’s YieldStar software. With over 1300 interconnected projects, understanding the relationships between objects and their lifetimes had become increasingly challenging for developers. My assignment focused on creating a tool capable of dynamically generating a graphical representation of these dependencies abd object lifetimes to improve comprehension, facilitate debugging, and support better design decisions.

The project began with a comprehensive analysis of Autofac’s DI framework and the specific challenges associated with its implementation in large-scale systems. Using Microsoft’s Automatic Graph Layout (MSAGL) library, I developed a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application to receive and visualize object lifetimes and dependency graph, displaying nodes (representing objects) and edges (representing dependencies) in an interactive format. The tool works with the modification of the Autofac library to parse and, send configuration data at runtime by swapping .dll.

This visualization tool does not only provide immediate value to developers by offering insights into dependency lifetimes but also highlights potential architectural bottlenecks or integration issues.

My internship has allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to a real-world problem, contributing to a high-impact solution in a cutting-edge technology and Research & Development environment.

Pentesters vinden momenteel gevoelige informatie zoals inloggegevens, klantgegevens, bedrijfsgegevens, enzovoort op fileshares op basis van ervaring en simpele scripts. Dit proces verschilt per pentester en is daarom moeilijk te controleren of deze goed zijn. Op het moment is het erg inconsistent en subjectief werken. Er is geen methodiek of richtlijn die aantoont of de resultaten volledig zijn en hoe volledig. Dit wordt nu op gevoel gedaan.
Het onderzoek richt zich daarom op het ontwikkelen en onderzoeken van gerichte methodieken om het proces meetbaar te maken en klanten garantie te kunnen geven dat er gebruik is gemaakt van een methodiek, het reproduceerbaar is en op een standaard gecontroleerd is.

The OPAL project by Ortec Finance delivers real-time financial simulations via a REST API, responding within 2 seconds for frontend visualization. While high performance is achieved by pre-loading critical data into memory, this approach leads to significant memory usage. Additionally, the JVM’s memory retention during the generation of large-scale simulation results intensifies infrastructure demands.
OPAL operates in Kubernetes with uniform resource configurations for all clients, despite their varied needs. This mismatch results in inefficient resource utilization, with some clients using as little as 20% of allocated memory. Over-allocation inflates infrastructure costs and resource waste, especially as simulations for thousands of economic scenarios demand substantial memory and CPU.
This project focuses on optimizing OPAL’s memory management by fine-tuning JVM settings and aligning Kubernetes resource allocations to client-specific requirements while investigating and improving the existing Kubernetes infrastructure. By profiling each client’s resource usage, implementing tailored JVM configurations, and dynamically adjusting memory and CPU resources, the project aims to reduce over-commitment, cut costs, and enhance scalability. Clients with lower demands will receive minimal resources, while those requiring complex simulations will be provisioned accordingly.
The solution will enhance resource efficiency, lower operational expenses, and ensure scalability. Furthermore, the project will include delivering a Grafana dashboard to monitor JVM and Kubernetes usage, offering real-time insights for performance tuning and resource optimization. These efforts will enable OPAL to deliver reliable, high-performance simulations while maintaining cost-effective and sustainable Kubernetes operations.
